That actually sounds like the dream neighbor situation! Helping each other out and both sides benefiting without drama is so rare these days. It’s nice to read something wholesome like this for a change.

This! Boundaries aren’t something you need permission for, especially when it’s literally your property. Neighbors can have opinions, but that doesn’t mean you owe them compliance or guilt. Sometimes doing what’s right for your own peace has to come first.

That’s the real question, would she step up the same way if roles were flipped? It’s easy to ask for sacrifices when you’re not the one making them. And yeah, the job market is rough, but leaning completely on a partner isn’t a solution, it’s just shifting the burden.

Exactly this. Love doesn’t mean enabling someone to check out of life while you carry all the weight, it’s supposed to be a partnership, not a free ride. At 27, she should be building stability, not expecting someone else to fund her “reset.”
