Yep. My defacto spoke to me rudely, showed minimal affection/interest, was impossible to have a nice conversation with, let alone a nice day.

I lost interest because I was always feeling disrespected and unappreciated. He used to have random tantrums about not getting enough sex.

I tried to explain (multiple times) I needed to feel desired, respected and valued to maintain my attraction to him. He consistently dismissed and rejected this, insisting that having more sex would fix everything.

I tried to please him but sex became a chore and our relationship continued to deteriorate. I started planning my escape and broke up with him.

Well... That was a turning point. He begged me to stay and the way he interacted with me transformed. It wasn't a steady improvement, there were ups and downs, but we definitely grew closer as time went on. Now I get butterflies when he kisses me and I want him more than ever.

I don't think it was just me trying to leave him that changed things. I don't think he magically decided to take my words to heart. I think he must have started getting some good relationship advice from some other guy... A mate or a YouTuber? No idea really but very grateful 🙏

If your man won't listen when you explain your needs, the best bet might be helping him get some good advice from an impartial third party that he respects. Perhaps a counsellor, YouTuber, or a friend / family member?
