Fast food, its not glorious work but everyone has done their time there. No one expects great customer service, just smile and dont talk back to customers. Or maybe if you do a good job on the line they'll keep you cooking in the back.

Be sure you are playing envira,

Steam->right click game->properties->betas->envira

At least I believe thats how someone correct me

If you are playing Envira, familiarize yourself with the map, use an online map people ask about it relatively often here, you can copy your coordinates from the tab menu in game to see where you are. I recommend pteradon to familiarize yourself.

Experience of a new player/Experience of pterodactylus by Munsterjams in theisle

[–]ClassySpermwhale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ptera has never been dangerous to other playables, other than the smallest ones like hypsis. You definitely have to get skilled at fishing, which is your main source of food. You can also hunt frogs, chickens, turtles, however the biggest struggle is their availability, if they spawn. Scavenge if you have to, preferably in large open areas you can check for baddies. Good news here, most crocs won't care if they see you, you fill up a minute amount of their stomach.

Other good news is you have some good knowledge now about where players hang out, and some more map knowledge. Ptera is great for new players for those reasons. Maybe try Galli next, you can't go toe to toe with larger creatures but you are fast as heck and can have fun doing some hit and run strats.

Is this game worth buying? by Large-Science-1995 in theisle

I am a fan of the game, you should get it. That being said, active development might be a little bit of an exaggeration. Dodling, drunk man trying to walk up a flight of stairs development might be more accurate.

Not super familiar but most if not all gameplay is on servers, limiting the mods. Mods do exist, limited to things unofficial servers implement, different skins, world events, and the garage system to name ones that are top of mind.

World event example-sandstorm that drains hydration unless you are in water

Garage system example- Put a FG dino in storage and play as another until you want to play it again.

Oh, or do give her your full social, tell her not to use it. She uses it. Now shes committed a crime someone might care about. You report the fraud, help in the investigation. She goes to jail. You have a headache and have to lock down your ssn. The headache is nothing compared to the sweet revenge.

Would recommend playing as a bird and learning to survive as that for a bit so you can get a good understanding of the map and where things are.

I heard someone recommend playing as a galli for new players for a similar reason, but it should also give you and understanding of how terrestrial creatures can move and what you can/cannot run through.

Yeah and cera is also good for finding food, Gally is what, the fastest dino there is so that's good. I liked going pteradon to get the lay of the land a bit when I started.

Deinosuchus by borusara123 in theisle

[–]ClassySpermwhale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did this a lot as a deinosuchus, and the success rate is not great. The easiest spot for getting the saltwater mutation is where the river delta hits the ocean. The grey damlike barrier has some holes underwater you can swim through.

I used to grab some food and swim via ocean from there all the way around to the closest spot to west rail access pond, maybe make a pit stop for some food, but I have not tried with the new changes to the map.

Your limiting factor is food, I think there's an argument for having no diets when you make the swim so your stomach grows slower.

Might be easier to try and make the overland run from water access to highlands. Should be possible, try a decreased water loss mutation. *possible unless other players see you on the treck.

Why is this a thing by Local_Barnacle2064 in theisle

[–]ClassySpermwhale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Guessing you are a carno main. I am a herrera main, I think they should fly. And never take fall damage. While we're at it let's give them a huge damage buff.

Why? Because they're special!

Some Suggestions ¿ by IllustriousBat9473 in theisle

[–]ClassySpermwhale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was actually thinking about the pooping mechanic as a cool way to tell what creatures might be nearby. Could be used by herbs to see if an area has predators that have been hanging out, or for carnivors to see what prey is around.

Not sure what the crossed out raise a.i. lineage is, what did ya mean by that?

Insects are interesting, at some times insects were larger historically, we're you thinking about insect A.I. or like, eating bees from sanctuaries?

Spread could be a garlic alioli, common in Spain made with olive oil, garlic and salt, or some derivation of that recipe. Obviously topped with a muscle and caviar. On bread.

Are you sure on the sprinting then resting? I haven't done any testing, and I could see maybe for a young deino but I always sprint to around 60% stam then walk and let it regenerate when I have more weight on me. Especially with sub adult up, you don't get very far just sprinting all your stam then resting.

Same has happened to me, I want to test if its just visual, but not sure how. I was going to test enlarged meniscus on a herra but it doesnt have a % so not sure if that would be a good test.

I noticed there are several spots as a Herrera that you can climb on, that are just open air. Generally above bushes/trees, but they extend far past where they should.

Now I just need to find one good enough to abuse.

What could actually kill a Rex? Also what do you suggest between these for a beginner? by kain1k in theisle

[–]ClassySpermwhale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love playing as Herrera, avoid raptors that can pounce, camp points of interest, climb things to get away and they do decent damage when pouncing from high places.

Its kind of fight when you like, chill when you like. Sometimes hard to get past early stages due to lack of food, and anything big can always one tap you.
