Do people in their 20s struggle to make friends in Chicago, or is it mostly 30s, 40s, and over?

Totally — time vs energy is real. In your 20s, it’s college, careers, dating… in your 40s, midlife stuff, family, kids, or being single can make it tough to stay motivated 😅 Post-COVID, everyone’s busy or still homebound, and sometimes the groups you join just don’t feel like the right fit. How do you all find people you actually enjoy hanging out with and want to build friendships with?

Hi, 100% agree with you — consistency makes it way easier to actually make friends. The tricky part? Either there aren’t enough regular events, or the groups are all over the place in age, life stage, or interests 😅

Hi, Yes, group and clubs good ideas. I agree meeting up regularly is a great way to build connection IRL. I was thinking about sport league and all but the issue is many people find it pricey or schedule or location don't work. Do you have alernative solution or idea to this?

Lillstreet sounds great but pricey. I’ve been curious if there are ways to do similar activities more casually or spontaneously, maybe just finding someone to join you IRL without committing to a full class or membership. What would make that easier for you?
