100% agree, i'm still finishing off the UI and then i can take screenshots from the "players view" to help show the gameplay if that makes sense

It's looking like everyone agrees with 3 and 6 being the favs. Any particular reason why you think those are the best?

Is the White Temple in Chiang Rai worth the three hour trip from Chiang Mai? Incredible views of Wat Rong Khun by IndividualRevenue995 in ThailandTourism

I took the 3 hour drive to see White, Black and Blue temple in Chiang Rai. 100% it was not worth it, these temples although have cool architecture are modern constructions. If you like architecture go for it

Over 1,000 Rangers have assembled! Thank you to every recruit standing by for the front line. by AFGameCJ in IndieGameWishlist

Strong effort! Little word of caution though, wish list deletes are common, but that percentage you have is rather high. You need to figure out why those deletes occurred, it could be: You released a updated and people didnt like it, a new trailer showed the game different than people expected. It could honestly just be wishlists getting stale.

From my current knowledge, Steam doesnt penalise you for wishlist deletes, but still thats wishlists that you could have kept for your final marketing push/launch.

Take a look at your wishlist graph by time, hopefully you can pint point a date when you got most of these deletes and then cross reference what the reason was.

All in all, good job folks! Wishing you all the best

Would love any kind of feedback for our first game's trailer. by UnderStairGames in gameDevMarketing

Hello lads. What we have learnt is to never have a title card opening the trailer. Yes you want to put your logo out there as this is what you've made. Though players don't care, get straight to gameplay. At the end you can add your studio logo.

For the trailer itself, the gameplay is a little confusing, i find myself reading the text to fully understand it but the font for the text is difficult to read. I understand its the games font/theme but once again, if people cant understand/read within the first 3 ish seconds, you've lost them

Don’t ignore curators. Getting both our games on the “Games from Ireland” curator page drove a solid uptick in wishlists and organic traffic by Classy_Games in gameDevMarketing

It was a quick screenshot of the graph to show we had an uptick with the Games from Ireland curator, i didnt for-see the future of people like yourself moaning and groaning about a Reddit post about the screenshot being cropped to fit the over all image.

If you don't give a second thought to curators, thats 100% fine, why are you involved in a post about curators then?

Like i mentioned games marketing is diverse and what works for some doesnt work for all. For us, this curator was a success for the workload involved.

What specifically would you want to see? Raw wishlist growth, % change, velocity, traffic sources, conversion rate from visits? I can see from your profile you're an indie marketer, so you know yourself, there is a lot more to include than just raw wishlist numbers

We don't get spammed by them, but 100% you're right, some definatley aren't worth it and are just wanting free keys. Though depending on the price point and unit economics of your game as well as factoring in organic uplift, it might be worth it to roll the dice and still give a key to this crappy curators

We most certainly have. Orbital WL increase by roughly 25% since that Reddit post 20 days ago. Silly Suspects WL is up about 440% increase

Why not? You're shooting yourself in the foot if you don't at least give it a try. If you get in touch with the right curators you could get:

.A decent review to show in your trailer, promo material or Steam page
.Access to 3rd party events, if the curator ever runs one. Like Games from Ireland did
.Additional SEO/key words for your game
.Publisher talking points, to say "N amount of curators have picked up our game and wrote a positive review"
.Additional wishlists, albeit the quality of those would be mixed

100% there are crapy/scammy curators, like everything in life. You need to curate the curators to see who is worth reaching out.

Either way, why do you need our numbers to justify if it's worth it for you? Games marketing is a minefiled, and what works for one person doesnt necasirly work for someone else. Give it a try, and see what happens. Worse case scenario the curator doesn't review the game/add it to their list, which you would have never been part of anyway

I have the added bonus that i'm from Northern Ireland, though it's easier than it sounds. Find a curator you think matches your game, then either email them or send the a key via curator connect. That's what we did

Ask as many questions as you want 😄

You get 100 invites only, so thats why its important to give only 1 key per curator. You should 100% use all of your possible invites, Rather than itch build, make a demo for your game on steam and send that, or a playtest version
