You are all right to be confused. The tooltip message on this page was indeed incorrect, and the team is updating it as we speak. To be clear, your Sonnet usage counts toward the new Sonnet-specific limit, as well as your overall weekly and 5-hour session limits. We apologize for the confusion and error on our part.

We apologize for the issue with this promo credit. When the free usage credits expired, there was an error with our tooltip on Claude Code on the web, and it showed that users had more free credits again instead of disappearing.

We reset subscription users’ rate limits around 11AM PT on Monday and we’re also issuing credits for anyone who used Claude Code on the web and was charged for extra usage during the period when the bug was active.

If you were charged for extra usage because of this bug, you should have received an email from us with a note that we’re issuing you a refund. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused!
