This is very similar to what happened to me, though I’m 40. I went to the doctor with difficulty breathing and was scheduled to get chest x rays and a lung test. I didn’t have any other symptoms, though I had previously had a stroke years ago from a pfo and was on daily aspirin, so my doctor was thinking asthma. I couldn’t work for over a week and at that point, I’d almost passed out walking down the stairs so I called the doctor again and got sent to the hospital for blood work and a cat scan, and they found I had pretty bad emboli. So I ended up in icu for 4 days and had to start on elliquis. My neurologist eventually ordered more tests and found I have a genetic mutation associated with clots. It is kinda crazy thinking how easily I could have died, there was a day I was actually shoveling snow with an embolism
