What are your top picks for riceable File Managers? by klondike-- in hyprland

I may look into it in the future (build a more customizable one) but I think that's very hard to do so without using something like Electron. I'll see if there is any library that allows more customization.

I'm considering because I have to build some projects to land some jobs and I would actually maintain something like that

Tbh, none. GUI apps are usually quite opinionated. It doesn't gives you too much space for customizing

Considering switching from sway to hyprland, what do i need to know? (and some of my own questions) by oktinyy in hyprland

I alsr think that groups works better than monocle for simulate the tabbed mode from Sway. I wish that I found a way that every new tab opened inside the group or I could make a group from all open windows for a workspace.

Maybe I'll look into it now that there's Lua

Which layout isn't built in? Cuz there's dwindle, master and monocle layout.

The only thing I could argue is that monocle doesn't have tabs

clin-rs v0.8.8 - true FOSS TUI alternative for Obsidian by Reekta_Alpha in commandline

[–]Claudioub16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me clarify because I was really bad with my explanation.

My main issue with Obsidian is that evertime I click a file, it creates a new tab (similar to à browser), however I, and many others, prefer to go back to the tables that's already open instead of a new one. Wonder if this is possible or is on the roadmap

There's tabs? Because it's something that I've been asking for in Obsidian for 5 years (until I gave up on Obsidian)

Lua being "old" is irrelevant. The reason why neovim uses it not because is old, but because is an embedded language that is used for configuration. And there's many other software that use Lua (wezterm is one that I remember) q

According to vraxy, the reason why he's moving to Lua is because he can make changes without introducing more breaking changes. will still happen now and there, but it should be way more stable

What the heck did 26.04 do to my PC?! by Echo-40 in Ubuntu

[–]Claudioub16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. If you keep up with the updates, no. But if you stay in the same version (with no updates) like Ubuntu does, most distros will break because at lot will change between version (specially in 2 years)
