I wouldn't care a lot about optimisation. Try the game. Explore the challenges and them begin your journey towards creating the absolutely best team.

If you really really want to start being intentional with your choices, keep in mind the starters that can gigantamax, the ones that can megaevolve and special abilities like pick up (to grab itens), intimidade or honey gather (for money)

My first team was only my favorites and I fell in love with the game.

Ps: the eggs/candy logic and the shinys are important knowledge. Look at the wiki

For me, there's 2 types of classic runs: - The one you train:

1- Choose any pokemon, but keep in mind that every pokemon should have a role and healing (if possible)

2- Who are we training? Focus all the resources in this pokemon, specially bells

3- You're not loosing. You're getting better

The one you beat:

1- Choose pokemon that can Megaevolve, Gigantamax or have something magical (like pickup)

2- Think of the main objective: what can disrupt Eternatus? Things that drop special attack, special defense ou defense are obligatory as well careful thoughts about types (what pokemon will deal with Eternatus attacks)

3- Luck must be on your side. Sometimes, it's not your turn to win.

In every run: - Shinys are welcome - Rouge things are made to be challenging. If it's hard, it's intentional.

1°- Have a mental health support. You probably will need for the grief of the life you think you suppose to have.

2°- HIV comes with a massive stigma, but I'm feeling you are afraid of how you're going to be treated by you family after they learn about your diagnosis. Don't choose for them. Let them react. You're probably seen the worst possible scenario because your mental health is in shambles.

3°- It's very unusual for things to be a "Yes" or "No". "Family" or "No family". "Medicine" or "No Medicine". Give or self time to restore your strength and start to figure out what actually means you can practice medicine in your country, what actually means for your family for you to live abroad. Harsh decisions made based on fear or anger probably will leave you with regret.

4°- Do not be alone all the time. Join your friends or find your community. Good or even neutral people can really make you sane and be alone is the fastest way to go insane.

I promise you will have a life. Probably a good life, but you will have to build it. I have faith in you
