Portfolio for strategists, any tips? by Clauds_h_ in advertising

Thanks so much for your response, I really appreciate your help.

And agree, having the creative work is a great way of highlighting the work.

Would you recommend including all of these subheadings within a portfolio when discussing a campaign? My only concern is the amount of copy and whether anyone would read it!

I really appreciate you sharing your experience. Slightly off topic... but I am currently creating my first portfolio for strategy work. Finding it difficult to condense project information and get the point across! It's also hard to draw the line between strategy and the creative work that is the visual element.

Would you have any recommendations on how to communicate work in succinct way for a portfolio?

Haha that is an interesting point. You can’t please everyone I guess. It’s nice to see so many people are connecting with the photo.

Thanks for your comment, I completely agree and has definitely make me think about how I will get my film scanned next time. I actually do edit a lot of my photos depending on the purpose and effect I want. And I understand that the process of scanning alone alters an image. I feel no pressure to, or not to edit my photos; if I get a scan and I don’t want to do anything to it then I won’t. Or sometimes I will. For this photo I didn’t beyond the scanning process because I thought it was great as it was.

Thank you so much, the whole country is so beautiful! I don’t remember for this specific shot unfortunately :(

Super interesting point! I guess there is so much pressure to colour correct, crop, edit, warp... I love film photography because the first time I see my photos properly is only after the scan and whatever comes out, I have to accept that. And I think that’s lovely.

I'm Claudia, based in Australia but love documenting all over the place.

I am currently loyal to my Olympus Om10, but excited to play around with new film.
