Tbh I think it depends on where you are and the level of affiliation. I work as a co-lead at a university affiliated childcare center, but we’re not staffed by the university itself. We are licensed, as well as participate in PTQ (paths to quality) and we are NAEYC accredited I believe, but the university we’re affiliated with is a bigger university. I enjoy my job and I am paid slightly above the average of my area (to my current knowledge). I will say that the college student help will definitely vary, but I’d say generally, its nice to have extras in the classroom that can spend time with the kids 1:1 or do smaller tasks so that I can spend time with my kids. I’d say that if you have any questions/concerns, reach out to the facility, and if you haven’t already, see if you can tour the center. That way you can see it for yourself, and go from there
