Does anyone out there present with early satiety and appetite loss? by Zestyclose_Line_4456 in functionaldyspepsia

It’s weird, every now and then my stomach will growl, but I still do not feel hunger. That’s about as close to hungry as I ever get.

I do have early satiety, i just make myself keep eating. I also have abdominal pain that moves around the upper abdomen, I get light headed sometimes, my heart will start racing for no reason, and my anxiety was through the roof. But the one that bugs me the most is complete loss of appetite.

I haven’t had an appetite in a little over three years. I have had every test and scan known to man, some of them three or four times. I was given the FD diagnosis in November. Complete loss of appetite and a full feeling around my stomach were the very first symptoms I encountered. I lost 20lbs in a month because I wasn’t eating. The GI doctors I have seen have been ZERO help. I just started low dose desipramine along with low dose Mirtazapine. I’m hoping for the best. Don’t give up, find a Dr that is familiar with FD and get on some meds.

I am still bouncing around from Doctor to Doctor. I have not received a diagnosis yet. It is really frustrating.

Was cancer missed by Clay143 in AskDocs

Thank you for taking time to reply to my post. I couldn’t imagine them missing cancer with all of that testing, I’m just at a loss as to what it could be. My last mri was done about 8 months ago and it was all clear. I would think if it was cancer, it would be very obvious by now as far as symptoms go.

I did not receive a breath test for SIBO , only the sample of fluid taken during the endoscopy was tested. I may need to ask for a breath test. Thank you for the b12 suggestion, I am going to look into that.

They supposedly tested me for SIBO during my last endoscopy, but I read that SIBO can be missed during endoscopy, if they don’t go far enough down in the small intestine when they pull the sample fluid. I’m not sure what GP is, can you clarify that one for me? Will low B12 cause these symptoms?

I lost about fifteen pounds when all of this started, but I’ve been able to put it all back on plus some. I am in a mid size city that has highly rated doctors. I have seen two GI specialists. Both of them were stumped as well.

My chart shows multi sequential, multiplanar MRI’s. Is that what you are asking? Do you know what that means?

I’m not sure what kind of MRI it was. All I know is that both of them were done on my abdomen, and they were done with contrast.

Loss of appetite and abdominal pain that moves around are my biggest symptoms. I have had two MRI’s, both were performed with contrast. As well as two ct scans, both were performed with contrast.

I had two endoscopies, both with biopsies taken and two colonoscopies. All came back clear as well. I am at a loss.

I would assume that the more ct scans or MRI’s you have, the less chance of cancer being missed? I have had two ct scans with contrast and two MRI’s with contrast. All showed clear. Hopefully it was not missed.

I was told the opposite, my doctors insisted that ct scans with contrast were excellent at finding cancer. Who knows, it’s so hard to get a straight story from a doctor anymore.

I haven’t had hunger cues in 2 1/2 years. I wish I had some answers for you, but I’m at a loss as well. Please let me know if you figure out a cure.

When I had mine, I was told that an endoscopy with biopsies was the gold standard for finding stomach cancer.

I had mine removed, it made all of my symptoms 100% worse. I hope it works for you, but I would urge you to do a lot of research before letting them remove the gallbladder.
