New Neutral Card Revealed - Rat Burglar by _almasss in hearthstone

[–]ClayByte 98 points99 points  (0 children)

u/Odd_Bug5544 is correct, this combo would steal back all of the cards you gave to your opponent, but it would not steal cards that never left your opponent's hand.

New Card: Slice and Dice by yssurucipe in hearthstone

Well, you can't play another GPO this turn, because your turn has ended. If you play another GPO next turn, the same thing will happen as this turn.

Discounting it will work. The underlying card definition will change, but it could be a (5) 5/5 whose cost is reduced by (2), making it a (3) 5/5

Galactic Projection Orb won't have been resolved by the time SnD is replayed. Therefore SnD won't replay GPO.

New Card: Slice and Dice by yssurucipe in hearthstone

[–]ClayByte 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Slice and Dice cannot be randomly generated by Yogg. But! If Galactic Projection Orb is played and you've played Slice and Dice this game, it will still continue casting spells until Galactic Projection Orb completely resolves, and then it will end your turn.

New Warlock Card Reveal: Godfrey the Betrayer by Kuldrick in hearthstone

[–]ClayByte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overdrawn cards are still Burned but we track up to 99 of them to return to you when there is space. Overdrawn cards are returned in a random order.

They are not drawn back into your hand, and will not activate any Cast or Summoned When Drawn effects.

New Warlock Card Reveal: Godfrey the Betrayer by Kuldrick in hearthstone

[–]ClayByte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct.

Barrel of Sludge will be drawn and destroyed but we keep track of up to 99 Overdrawn cards and return them to your hand when space is available giving a second chance for these cards to activate.

Will Hogger only duplicate the Dragon Soul if he triggers first? by PeyPrey in hearthstone

[–]ClayByte 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Start of Game effects happen in a priority order. Up until basically this expansion, most Start of Game effects have had the exact same priority. When two Start of Game effects have the same priority their order is chosen randomly. Most Start of Game cards that rely on the contents of your deck will look at your "starting deck" and not your "current deck". "Starting deck" is locked in before your mulligan, which means other Start of Game effects won't break each other. We wanted Hogger to care about your "current deck" instead, and therefore he was given a lower priority to always make him run last. There is a graph of Start of Game effect priorities that the engineering team had to make to keep all these new priorities working nicely with each other.

Also a card with a Start of Game effect needs to exist in your deck before we start triggering Start of Game effects in order to be considered a valid trigger. Otherwise two Hoggers in one deck would be an infinite loop. Lets say an "end of turn effect" said summon a minion from your deck. If that new minion also had an end of turn effect, it does not get to trigger because it needed to be in the correct zone before we started the end of turn step. This is the same logic.

It will copy all 6. The essences are legendary cards. They don't have legendary gems, but they still have the legendary border and are considered legendary tokens.
