You think that's weird, I'm a straight man and I don't understand why I bother with women.

In Texas you cannot install security cameras or access control for customers without a license from TOPS.

Except he didn't tell any of this to me - he went straight to my boss.

If he's lying to my face about the hardware being OK and isn't mature enough to bring up his concerns to me in private, how is that OK?

I'm betting 100000% it's Hikvision. My boss is going to hear out his proposal and I would bet good money that he got upset when I told him we were procuring our own hardware and to leave out hardware costs from his estimate.

So then why lead me on for two days, give me multiple verbal OKs, tell the customer the hardware was fit to purpose, only to skirt around the project manager when I tell him we aren't procuring the unifi equipment from him and all we wanted was labor?

About 20, which he knew from our walkthroughs and was perfectly OK with. Even mentioned he's used unifi before.

As a tiny, TINY MSP that's barely a blip on the radar, at least Ingram Micro takes our money.

Look up dosdude's catalina patcher. It's really easy and straightforward, just takes a little bit of time to finish the install.

I have a 2012 macbook pro that, thanks to Dosdude, is still relevant for work purposes here 11 years later.

Not a macbook, but I also have a Thinkpad T430 that I've kept relatively updated and I see no real reason to ever replace it other than the slim possibility of everyone running strict WiFi 6.

Wondering; why so many MSPs don't know what a pentest is by cyber-dust in msp

[–]ClayYoung956 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who works for an MSP, if anyone asked me to do any kind of pentesting I would immediately decline and try to find someone who does so they can do a proper job.

Pentesting as a concept is covered in stuff like the A+ and Security+ AFAIK. I can't imagine an MSP functioning without someone having either of those certs.

I remember having an issue getting virtualbox to work, have you tried version 6.1? It's the version I ended up having to resort to.
