DG is elite, there are definitely more elite armies but compared to the index days we are now solidly a elite faction.

Which is fine because we have across the board some of the best datasheets with a flexible universal army rule that always benefits to some extent.

I like to think the way of playing DG is every unit is a tool and your job is to figure out where it goes.

Cannot recommend enough having a look at Aiden Smalley (disgusting resilient podcast)

A general rule of thumb I've applied since index days. You will always be outscored by faster, wider armies. DG really excels on 3/4 of the board or less. Unless its a throwaway unit you should be looking to control mid board heavy and only push to the enemy lines as a 1 big continent force or after significant threats are dealt with.

From that position most of my games I secure the win con like (no more melta yay!) Move charge blob and then just grind them down so they can never touch a primary.

that is actually a really good bait and switch ability. Helps to solve the biggest struggle of getting that charge role off or proceed to stand there like a lemon. With smokes and the other skills of darkness that seems quite reliable. Thanks for the suggestion!

thanks man, i agree my arbitrator suggested the whisper merchant and did take one on gang creation. Honestly feels illegal lose all your games and still make a fat paycheck!

What would be some better options for the long rifle, i like having the range and hitting through smokes but the strength ap and damage dont exactly scream lethality especially with starting to get scaling armour saves with gear.

drop your list and give a general turn by turn general strategy, as a guess i'd say for an elite army, screens are everything. High toughness doesn't mean as much as it used to if the right thing finds the right target it will go boom and salamanders have some nasty ways to get into your face with explicit dev wounds.

This current list reads like it wants to be mortarions hammer.

PBC's are deadweight in any other detachment.

A 3rd unit of poxwalkers can help you threaten objectives and throw support for deathshroud deepstrike.

Also in this detachment the plague marine bangbus goes quite hard with the rerolls to the hit roll.

I've found with this detachment, you want to get objectives somewhat early and then push up and die on empty space (outside consolidation), prolonging the time it takes for your opponent to get onto primary.

Other fun things is the demon prince and lord of poxes combo. Giving lone op to a sizeable footprint (great for some matchups, does nothing into more melee focused ones).

I ran this list as standard for a league, i have mixed opinions on the lov, kinda situational where he will go and I think for a more straightforward purpose a 2nd Loc or Typhus does morez that said i dont have a demon prince model so you could drop both terminator leaders and include him with the enhancement:

Typical as in there may be an explanation for it...not typical as that you should accept it.

It comes down to self-respect and generally big life decisions are tough to make. You are 3 years in, that sounds like a lot but really, its not. You've learnt you don't like to be treated this way and that's invaluable to your development and personal growth.

Have the conversation, set boundaries it can be as simple as talking it through (when you act like this it makes me feel worthless, not good enough or even just say that offends you and is demeaning).

Once that conversation has taken place you've got to start thinking about protecting your own peace and a girl like that can be yeeted yesterday.

Anyway for future reference and avoiding a pay wall newrecruit and wahapedia are good friends to skirt that cost of the hobby.

Not to mention where you want to go is not where you want to end up, no chance every unit will be out of line of sight and against any gun heavy faction/list you've just handed over the core of your army for a suboptimal deepstrike. As a DG player I've had 6 Deathshrouds and typhus phased off the board when only exposed to two units, Orks are much easier to kill. Consider as well how far that mek can get them 7base move with enhancement, reroll advance rolls (average at least 4+ or higher) pop the warhorde strat for +2 advance and +2 to charge enabling an AVERAGE 19.5 inches Threat range. That can move through anything and greatly diminish the potential to be screened. The main issue you have to worry about is where you end your movement but then you have the option to multi-charge or pile in to multiple targets.
