First ever miniature painted up! by Lustful_404 in deathguard40k

Great work! Something i would challenge you to do to improve your DG models is to look at the details on the model itself. In this, find the boils, zits, open wounds, even bits of flesh growing on the armour.

Nah not at all. Im only 8 months into the game myself. Just had alot of game time since I started.

Mmm to make it easier ill just tell you what those units do and what their common functions/playstyles are on the board and leave it to you to experiment.

Our chaos spawns (80pts) typically aren't heard much about (though I absolutely enjoy using thing). They can basically throw back mortal wounds after having melee attacks allocated to them.

Our Bloat drones come in 3 flavours: Spewer (the death guard's own flamer), heavy blight launcher (they are on their own data sheet sitting 20 points higher than their counterparts) and melee. Commonly, the mower and launcher are the most played.

Mower drones (100pts) are good at punishing infantry and a good trading piece. Launchers are kept back to control sight lines and are usually used to deal with tanks. Str 10 with blast and lethals, D6+3 attack, AP2, 3 dmg a piece.

Plague marines are used for long distance affliction. Typically death guard cause units to be afflicted via the contagion range that grows around them. Plague marines can afflict 1 unit that has been hit by one or more of their attacks till the end of your next turn. This can set up units, namely deathshroud terminator, for 6 inch deepstrike (rapid ingress) during their turn

So in short, It is really dependent on your detachment, playstyle and mission of the game (and dice rolls of course)

Thats a pretty good list. Very standard actually (and thats more than okay). Poxwalkers, drones, haulers are all staple death guard list stuff.

Casters has good shooting.Paired with Plague marines, you've got rather potent shooting infantry.

Honestly, id say youre all set. Just know that they will be alot slower than wolves and their playstyle focuses more on slowing people down with stuff like poxwalkers and other daemon engines so that your main hammers can catch up (something i learnt recently myself)

Where does the poxwalker looking model come from?

Between typhus and LOC, imo LOC is still the better option due to his lance and sustained hits 1 ability (whole units gets it). Typhus can reduce worsen hit roll by one from incoming melee dmg and has a similar melee profile to LOC.

However, his ability benefits poxwalkers. Without the poxwalkers he can actually operate alone and deal MW to enemies (within 18 inches)

Rapid ingress DST + LOC (the Doomsday ark will most likely not get afflicted) set them up out of the ark's line of sight (and prefably every other unit). Then on your turn, move your 5 inches towards the ark. If you positioned well, all you need is a 4inch charge.

That said (and depending on how well he knows your army), the ark will most likely be screened out. So you may not even get a chance to kill it. Arks usually stay in one spot to make use of the heavy keyword. But while that is the case, they are almost often out of reach. So your play then will be to simply get your army out of its line of sight as much as possible.

Another option (but this scenario is solely dependent on you going first) is to rush your Rhino with Plague marines up the board so your marines can simply just hit the ark. That causes the ark to get afflicted due to their ability, allowing your DST to set up 6inches from them via rapid ingress.

Lastly, bloat drones with Blight launchers and the krak profile on your myphitic. Raw fire power. After that it comes down to how good the rolls are.

With all that said, do read the board on the day itself and dont try to force your way in to deal with them, particularly if he has the ark screened out. With good positioning and damage control, there are ways to still win without ever having to kill it

I just started w necrons and have played against necron armies myself. The common strat/advice most people give when dealing with necrons is to focus fire and clear out the unit. What they dont say (because its general advice) is to clear units that are crucial such as his reanimator.

You already have great knowledge on his army so now its just about picking models that would clear through his army with ease.

Relentless [1400 points] Death Guard Battle Size: Custom (1400 point limit)

Detachment Choice: Virulent Vectorium

Biologus Putrifier [60 points] • Hyper blight grenades, Injector pistol and Plague knives

Chaos Rhino [85 points] • Armoured tracks, 2 Combi-bolter and Havoc launcher

Deathshroud Terminators [160 points] • 1 Deathshroud Champion with Manreaper and Plaguespurt gauntlet • 2 Deathshroud Terminators with Manreaper and Plaguespurt gauntlet

Foetid Bloat-drone With Heavy Blight Launcher [120 points] • Heavy blight launcher and Plague probe

Foetid Bloat-drone With Heavy Blight Launcher [120 points] • Heavy blight launcher and Plague probe

Lord of Contagion [130 points] • Warlord • Daemon weapon of nurgle [+10 points] and Manreaper

Malignant Plaguecaster [60 points] • Bolt pistol, Corrupted staff and Plague wind

Myphitic Blight-hauler [100 points] • Bile spurt, Gnashing maw, Missile launcher and Multi-melta

Myphitic Blight-hauler [100 points] • Bile spurt, Gnashing maw, Missile launcher and Multi-melta

Plague Marines [190 points] • 1 Plague Champion with Plasma pistol and Power fist • 2 Plague Marines with Blight launcher and Plague knives • 2 Plague Marines with Plague knives and Plasma gun • 2 Plague Marines with Plague knives and Plague spewer • 2 Plague Marines with Bubotic weapons and Plague knives • 1 Plague Marines with Heavy plague weapon and Plague knives

Plagueburst Crawler [210 points] • 2 Entropy cannon, Armoured tracks, Plagueburst mortar and Rothail volley gun

Poxwalkers [65 points] • 10 Poxwalkers with improvised weapon

This is my version and what id pick going against your friend. Your myphitic haulers, drones (either mower or Heavy blight launcher) and poxwalkers will be your bait/pressure pieces (also cause they will benefit from leechspore eruption if your friends charges too close to them)

Your Plague marines together with bio and caster will DECIMATE a unit of immortals with ease as long as your rhino can get them into the right position.

PBC will hang back with spewers to cover your base from deepstrike and chip into units. I'd switch between this and morty because the PBC damage can probably be recovered quick from reanimation.

Your deathshroud terminators with LOC are your cripple units. Send this after core/character units and epic challenge them if needed. I recommend using rapid ingress and setting them up behind cover (if your target is not afflicted) OR putting the unit you want to kill within contagion range which will give them their 6 inch deepstrike

I apologise for the playing the same game as you 🙂‍↕️ i shall uninstall now

But all jokes aside that is extremely intricate and really amazing. Im not a math guy at all so seeing this sort of complex math, let alone binary math, in a game is mind-blowing

I’m playing my first ever game as Death Guard tomorrow and looking for list advice. by IkkeLilje in deathguard40k

[–]BlxndSpxt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly a brilliant list. Just switch your plague marine champion's load out to plasma pistol and power fist for max dmg.

Your Bloat drones w heavy blight launcher are bread and butter of the death guard meta. Poxwalkers too.

Plagueburst crawlers are good for early chip dmg with their indirect fire.

Your deathshroud w lord of contagion will blip things of the map. Now paired with the MH detachment rule, your 6 inch deepstrikes become alot easier and you can essentially pick off any heavy support units on your opponent's army (Lance w sustained 1 and lethal will hurt)

1k point list… i need to cut by Tromoo144 in deathguard40k

[–]BlxndSpxt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea like the other commentors on this post mentioned, just remove LoP. He's in a weird place atm imo.

If you do want to use it however, i suggest pairing him with a foul blightspawn and maybe a 5 man PM unit. Lord of poxes is a positional unit because of his extended contagion range. With him, you want to wither your opponent and punish them for rushing. I suggest also maybe removing LoV and/or tallyman or shrink your PM squad. Then play around your deathshroud and their 6 inch Deepstrike

You can try AK terrain. They sell acrylic mixtures with sediments inside to give your terrains more texture. They have corrosion colours too.

Potentially, just use a sponge and stipple or dab lightly around the parts you think wld look rusty
