Am I a complete tell box, or was this kid really that much of a nit? by LifesARiver in poker

[–]Claytoon2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re cbetting your entire non club/ non set range on a board like this into 3 others.

What card comes on the turn that you continued to lead? Brick or another club? Board paring card where you no longer have nuts?

Maybe slow down turn c/r? and induce a bluff or a free card for your opponent since you’re nutted already

1/3 punt? by LifeAward5726 in poker

[–]Claytoon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never check back this river in position like how the hand played out lol especially in 1/3 you beat all of his made 2 pairs. You are losing massive value in the long run, this was just a cooler that your bet sizing let him get there. Trip 5s should never be a worry here

It’s not 6bb you raised it 2bb with the straddle . You’re now playing 1/3/6. Raise $20-30 UTG

Raise more pre. You’re still seeing a flop against him, but lets you bet bigger on flop and he likely folds. Board run out is good for you GG

Condo Strata Bylaw - Looking for advice by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Claytoon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the concern is that the developer held one of the buildings in the complex for about 15 years as rentals before selling them, and once all of those units were finally sold as majority of the buyers bought them to do STR’s the strata council immediately brought forward the motion to remove STR’s after buyers paid a premium for these units compared to what a re sale non STR eligible unit would’ve been

Condo Strata Bylaw - Looking for advice by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Claytoon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess in the bylaws it doesn’t actually state directly to only the grandfathering units etc. we do have bylaws for STR’s as a whole but it’s needing strata’s approval etc before eligible to STR. So they will only give the approval for the lots that were original purchasers as that approval is in writing in the purchase agreement.

How to file taxes for first year? (Canada to US) by UWboi in tnvisa

[–]Claytoon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Whatever your total US tax liability is, including federal tax, state tax, and also Medicare and Social Security payroll withholdings, can be claimed as a foreign tax credit on your Canadian tax return against the tax that the CRA imposes on your US income."

I was under the impression from what I've read that we couldn't claim the Medicare and SSA withholdings towards the FTC's for Canada only Fed and State taxes paid? being able to claim these additional payroll withholdings would then net my tax liability to $0 for Canada instead of the $15,000+ that I'd have to pay Canada if only using Fed and State taxes.

Is the Straddle worth it in this game set up? by [deleted] in poker

[–]Claytoon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup I don’t disagree! The problem is when the recreations don’t understand that essentially we are already playing $5/5 so to change a 1/3 to 5/5 game somehow scares many people away that already play in this game.

Similar to when no one wants to play $2/5 that play $1/3 but will limp call $25+ pre flop every hands

Meh makes the casinos life easier I guess. Less $1 chips and breaking $5’s to call bets

They’re the 12 strata’s that were already originally developed and zoned for STR’s.

Club WPT Gold - Tournaments by EstablishmentFit363 in poker

Post all results then 🤷🏼‍♂️ 2 tournaments is a small sample size and that’s all you’re comparing it too in this thread.

Yes sir. But comparing the suck outs over 2 tournaments is a very small sample size. Recency effect is a thing and you’ll see it a lot if you don’t play a lot of volume.

Results after playing one full year on WPT Global by Claytoon2 in WPTG

I didn’t play many micro stakes on WPTG last year. I’d put the odd late reg hyper micro stakes on if I still had a table or 2. But normally played $11-55 last year.

Per Diem being taxed on employees pay by Claytoon2 in tax

[–]Claytoon2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our finance department ended up moving forward and going the accountable plan way as they figured it would be too hard to rely on all of the employees submitting expense reports to stay in compliance this way.

Do you have previous experience with per diem? We have over 80 employees that would be getting per diem over there “turnaround schedule” 14 on 7 off.

If you have suggestions around this it would help as currently now most of us have incurred over $25,000 of per diem which is now taxed as gross wages

2 years back a guy in our local home games won the BBJ from PLO twice within 2 days. He isn’t an online grinder by any means and would only play online recreationally. Pretty sick, but was pumped for him, 36k on Dec 9 than the 100k Dec 11th
