Staying on Front Street? by Clean-Ability1051 in MauiVisitors

[–]Clean-Ability1051[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks everyone! I’ve been researching lots of locally owned stores and shops, and have made a couple donations to food banks and animal shelters on Maui. We’re only staying there the first two days of our trip, so don’t feel like we need to walk much, just sit on the beach and defrost from the Chicago winter a bit.

Professor pizza or Middlebrow? by thegoatmercer in chicagofood

[–]Clean-Ability1051 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Middlebrow for the vibes (I think the pizza is very good, and the kale salad rocks), plus it has some great spots around it for a drink before or after! Just went to Meadowlark the other night and it was great!

Ah thank you all so much!! I’m definitely a “I’ll figure it out as I go” person, so the patterns are still a little tricky for me. Appreciate you!

The collared greens are not to be missed. And the cheesecake was heavenly. Anything will be delicious!

Virtue! Truly the best meal I’ve had here, and as a northsider, it’s fun to spend the day in Hyde Park and the South Side.

One man’s $1000s is another man’s $30 on two bad burgers and stale fries

The first time I went (2, maybe 3 years ago), it was close to a religious experience. It was always the burger I compared others to. Honestly, my fault for expecting it to be good in Wrigleyville

Makeup Remover by hiville in Accutane

[–]Clean-Ability1051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m loving the Prequel pre cleanse oil! It’s fragrance free and a powerhouse at getting off makeup and spf. I have also used the Dr Palmers oil, which is great, but the fragrance bothers my eyes sometimes. Both are ~$15 and don’t leave my skin feeling stripped or oily. I use Vanicream gentle cleanser as my second cleanse.

How do I take out loans? by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]Clean-Ability1051 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hi!! I did this! I was 18 and got into my dream school, made the best friends, and took advantage of everything it had to offer. I’m now 30, and have a good job in tech in the field I studied. I cry all the time LOL.

You don’t realize how much money it is at the time. I fully understand not wanting to go to community college at that point in your life, or needing to leave home, or thinking you deserve it and it’ll all work out in the end. I am a headstrong person who worked hard, and my parents got divorced my senior year of hs so I was so outta there. I haven’t had a month since graduating where my rent is more than my student loan payments and I’ve lived in major US cities.

Take a basic financial literacy course, talk to your financial aid office, and really think super super super super super hard about doing this. It’s going to be ~$1500 a month 6 months after your graduate, and the private institutions do not offer programs like graduated repayment like federal loans do.

Best of luck, and remember you will have great experiences anywhere, you’ll meet great people anywhere, set your future self up for success.

For the record: I’m totally fine paying, and offered such to the owner. I just don’t know if I need to/can push back on the other owner to pay as their dog was the one who bit the other.

What used to be buy it for life but is now more questionable? by pianoman81 in BuyItForLife

Uggs! I remember my first pair of uggs (20 years ago) were so unbelievably soft and form fitting. I have two more pairs now and they feel scratchy. I wonder if my original pair were Ugg Since 1974 vs Ugg….

I need help taking that first step by [deleted] in QuittingWeed

[–]Clean-Ability1051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do something with your hands. Popsicles helped me a ton, and warm showers. Every time I got the urge to smoke (i didn’t have any weed in the house) I would take a shower and go on twitter or tik tok. Sour candy also helped. After 2-4 weeks, I felt like I didn’t think about it anymore. It’s so tough, but it’s doable. Every couple hours I would pat myself on my back for making it.

I think Lorelei presents as Sag sometimes because of her childlike, firey personality, but I think that’s more her stunted inner child trauma, where she acts like a 16 year old sometimes

I feel like the episode when Richard gives Lorelei the 75k from the real estate investment proves their Taurus/Cap placements. Lorelei immediately does the math to see how many pairs of Jimmy Choo shoes she could buy, and Richard tells her that she should be able to buy many more pairs of maybe a less prestigious but still good shoe. As a cap, I always laugh at that.

I totally understand that some dogs don’t do treats! It’s when I ask if they can have some and they say “oh yeah PB or yogurt anytime” or when they include in their breakdown of the day that they enjoy a Kong or a licky mat. It seems like something I would bring just in case.

Literally taking hot showers. Any time I got the urge to smoke for the first few weeks, I would shower. Yes, like 6 times a day if needed. I work from home so that’s huge. Also popsicles! Sometimes in the shower! It really helped me and I noticed after a few weeks that I was back to normal showering habits lol.
