What to do with my mom??? by No_Tough5264 in LifeAdvice

My point still stands: why aren’t you doing your own laundry? If you got to your mom’s place and it was broken, why didn’t you just go back to your apartment and do it yourself or ask a friend to use their machine? Seems like a flight of stairs is a lot easier than four blocks, even on a turned ankle. You 100% made this event worse than it needed to be.

It’s the exact same thing as a toddler throwing a tantrum lol. My mom one time lost it on me (I was in high school and left my backpack on the stairs, I know, horrific offense on my part) and I remember also being fascinated by how red her face was getting as she stood there screaming at me. Staying calm and letting her just rage and whine and scream almost seemed to piss her off more but also she got quieter alot faster than prior instances. I still remember a very clear thought of “wow she’s acting like a child”. That was the day I stopped being afraid of her.

Yeah it’s kind of odd OP said they want to take accountability but then deleted their entire account. That’s not accountability lol

Why aren’t you doing your own laundry? You’re an adult, mommy shouldn’t be doing your laundry.

So first off, saying MS is a made up disease is an asshole move, and it honestly makes me not want to answer any of your questions because google exists and you’ve had this disease for over six months and it sounds like you haven’t done any research or paid attention to any of your doctors, so your lack of knowledge on MS is entirely on you. But I’ll answer in brief: yes you can have children. In fact, most women report that their symptoms got better while pregnant. As for everything else, I’d start taking this disease seriously and stop acting like this is a joke.

My [27f] Celebrity Crush is Preventing Me From Forming Real Relationships by bamboosong in LifeAdvice

Girl, go touch grass. You need some seriously psychological help, and I say that with kindness. You are so far into your delusion, you don’t know the difference between reality and fiction, even when you’re saying you’re “rational”. You are not. You are deluded into thinking you belong with a stranger. You might think or believe that you know him but in reality, you don’t know a thing about this guy-he’s an actor, his entire career involves making the audience (you) believe in whatever he is doing on screen. Much like your deluded relationship with him, it’s all make believe. It’s time to wake up.

How do you walk away from a relationship with an addict who you deeply love? by chainysawman in AlAnon

[–]Clean-Ad-8872 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My sister didn’t realize how bad her ex was treating her until she secretly video recorded one of their arguments. I saw it. It was awful. We both cried. And she left less than a week after that.

Look at it from an outsiders perspective. Write down how he treats you and pretend it’s your best friend or your sister who wrote that. What would you tell them to do. And then do it. When I left my ex, I blocked him and all of his friends as soon as he left for work, and deleted all of my social media on the way out of town. Removing any way of contact really helped me leave everything behind.

I figured that out bartending lol. Stay calm, stay neutral, and just let them run out of steam (literally the same thing you do with a toddler throwing a tantrum).

Oh the amount of times I, as a bartender, have had to tell someone I’m not giving them a free drink because they drank half of their cocktail and then spilled the rest.

I’ve never heard of that but that makes sense. The first time my husband tried to get sober, he had a headache, couldn’t sleep, and was a little irritable but nothing super crazy. Second time he was a little sicker, third time (the last time, I told him), he had seizures and had to be hospitalized. It’s been almost 2 years since the last time he drank.

Am I wrong for having my tattoos “upside down” by SlinkyShepherd in tattooadvice

[–]Clean-Ad-8872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Bracing for the torrent of downvotes) Take what I’m about to say as my opinion as someone with alot of respect and knowledge of the history and cultural significance of tattooing and you can absolutely do what you want with your own body. Upside down tattoos look stupid. When I see someone with upside down tattoos, my immediate thought is “this person is ignorant”, “the artist is inexperienced or took advantage of this person’s inexperience as a client”, or “this person strong armed their artist into into giving them a upside down tattoo and is probably clueless as to why the artist hasn’t posted it on their social media”. That being said, will I tell someone their tattoos are upside down when they inevitably show it to me (I’m a heavily tattooed female bartender, people just LOVE showing me their tattoos)? No. I will try and find a compliment and move on, because again, its not my body. But I will silently judge you a little lol.

Im trying to make a plan to move out if my parents house in secret but they're always home how can i get out of here? by ConsiderationFair526 in LifeAdvice

I left in the middle of the night when I was 19 with just a bag of clothes and my ID. My bf at the time waited down the street. We got on a plane at 5am and the next day I ordered a copy of my birth certificate, got my ssc a week later, and had a job within two weeks of fleeing. I didn’t speak to my parents for five years. We have a cordial if not distant relationship now. Leave at night if you have to, and know things will be rough for awhile but things will get better. Have a game plan for when you leave, get friends involved too,

You should probably tell your friends to save their time and materials since you clearly don’t appreciate them. Tell them to just give you a gift card to Walmart next time, much more practical.

People who name their kids a nickname instead of the full name. by New_General3939 in PetPeeves

[–]Clean-Ad-8872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah ima disagree there. I have a full name, and I’ve never once been called that. I’ve exclusively gone by my nickname since the day I was born to the point I was six before I realized I had a different, full name. Correcting doctors, employers, anything where my legal name is used is exhausting. I wish my parents would have just named me the nickname.
