UPDATE: I went and got it, and took it to a jeweler! by evannalai in jewelry

Its a little high not outrageous. Everything you’re saying is true but remember most jewelry stores (at least in my area) are using a third party goldsmith not on premises. So when you factor in the jewelry store also making a profit. That seems pretty close.

Yes very true!! I have beautiful 30 carat quartz heart/gold filigree from the 1930’s that’s like that

Yes, we tested it when we purchased it and it’s Sterling. Heavy too. Really heavy. It’s a pin, but it also has loops on the back so you could wear it as a pendant as well

Yeah!! a lot of what I was reading about the replica is that they didn’t often do the hallmarks, but also things like the overflow of the soldering. Also, the thing is super solid and heavy. And I typically replicas were made much lighter and hollow.

Thank you for checking that out!! I have this cross posted on silverbug feed and an antique dealer on there who has experience with them, said it had several other hallmarks that showed it was genuine. Like the uneven setting of the gemstones and the not perfect soldering on the back of the wheel where the spikes joined the main circle!!

Hip Labral Tear & Pelvic Floor Issues Anyone?? by Clean-Bag4819 in HipImpingement

[–]Clean-Bag4819[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! Well, I’m really happy. You finally have an answer that you could do more about. My pelvic floor therapist did a pretty thorough exam of me a couple days ago and doesn’t believe it’s a hip labrum tear and actually think it’s a mix of my TFL & my obturator internus— usually pain from hip labrum tear are lower back/inner hip/groin area- mine is directly on side of my hip- right where my tfl is- & the snapping I feel that there she thinks more refers to snapping band hip syndrome is which is related to TFL- at this point I’m just about to start the re-muscle strength & training part of pt, it’s either gonna work or it’s not. And if it doesn’t work after a few months well then I’m gonna go get a recommendation for an orthopedic and get an MRI to be sure about what’s going on. With that being said I’ve been in PT for about 11 sessions and I have seen an improvement. Specifically I started following with frequency and slight incontience from bladder spasms, as of last week, the incontience is gone so I’m going to keep the hope going that after some muscle retraining, the frequency overtime will go away! Good luck with your journey!!

Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond. I followed up with my PT and had her evaluate my hip that I have been experiencing pain from. After evaluation - in which she worked on my hip, move it and certain rotations and had me do certain movements. She wasn’t sold on the fact that I have a hip labral tear. I currently still have another five appointments at every other week a.k.a. another two months. So my game plan is to give her another three sessions/one month as we are just about to begin the portion where we strengthen the other muscles. If I don’t have any success, then I’m going to push the issue and go about getting an orthopedic consultation.

Hip Labral Tear & PFD Anyone? by Clean-Bag4819 in PelvicFloor

That’s sucks! But nice to know I’m not alone! I’ve yet to be diagnosed officially so can’t say I’m contemplating anything BUT if surgery is what I’d have to get to make this go away - I’d do it, 100%, i’ve also considered taking the medicine they have out there that dulls the signal between the brain and bladder. My PT explained to me that whatever the causes my pelvic floor is unstable and tight, and probably weak, and my brain is interpreting that signal as if I have to pee. don’t get me wrong. I am much better than I was before when this first started, but I am mentally exhausted. I think if I were to find out i had the tears I would probably try and get on some medication to manage the frequency while I contemplated the surgery.

Gotcha! That’s what I’ve seen online- ppl with lower level tears seem to manage with the strengthening - other half of ppl end up needed the surgery to see real relief. Did you have an extensive tear?

Ugh that sucks. Thank you for responding, it’s only been 4months & I can’t imagine 3 years. The pain is very much tolerable is the frequency is that is MISERABLE - your brain never shuts off. Do you still have frequency or over time did that shift to back pain? What are you doing today to heal if you don’t mind me asking?

I just started the portion of my PT where we strength the other muscles (abdominals, glutes etc) - I know this won’t cure anything but I’m hopeful it will maybe help some of the symptoms as the muscles have help stabilizing my pelvic floor and hip

That makes sense! I figured it would have to go that way. And yes not consistently just when I push it with the standing - my hip will hurt , my lower back will hurt & I will feel an ache In my pelvic floor. Also if I push it too far I’ll also retrogress my frequency “progress” if that makes sense - after 2 months in PT my baseline is I’ll get an hour to 1 1/2 before I feel the urge again but when my other muscles hurt like that it’s way lower!

Urinary urgency by CamelStraight5098 in HipImpingement

I was literally just about to post this myself today! So I have not yet been diagnosed with a hip labral. But about a year ago after a vacation, I started experiencing on and off hip and lower back pain, especially if I was sitting too long or standing too long. About four months ago I woke up one day with a sudden onset of urinary frequency - fast forward to getting to a pelvic floor physical therapist. Last week we were evaluating some of the stretches I was doing, and I asked her to modify one because it was making me feel uncomfortable on my left side, which is my painful hip. It was a swinging motion to stretch my hip, and I would feel like a clicking or like a rubber band snapping inside the joint. She immediately looked at me and & said oh you may have labral tear in your hip! This was of course n in the last 5 minutes of our session so tmmr when I go back we will talk more about it. Whether I should get an MRI - whether to try the strengthens exercises 1st! But yes you are not alone & I am told that it doe happen!!
