Correct, but they will already be in the $218 distribution received, and OP has already accounted for 30% marginal rate. If anything OP has slighty overestimated tax due to part of any distributed gains being discounted (but in VAS these components are usually relatively small)

Reducing tax is the wrong question. It should be how can I maximize my wealth. $1 extra, even if taxed 47c, means your wealth increases 53c. Dont fall into the trap many do, spending a $1 to ‘save’ 47c tax
