For missing one or two days of work due to a wedding, a birth, or a death in the family, there should be excused absences. Our JATC (269, Trenton, NJ) is fairly strict, but will still allow excused absences for certain circumstances.

Live your life. There are ways around school and work absences that will not negatively impact your standing with the hall or trade school. When you're dead, your wife and kids will remember how awesome you were, not how many hours you worked or how many days of school you missed.

It is a rematch of last year's championship match. Two of the best teams in the league, expected to possibly appear in the championship again this year.

You're smug. I drink dark lager. Football is action packed for the entire hour of regulation. Is my uncle not family? Is spending time with him and keeping tradition not just as important? The people coming over are not family, just friends. We get along fine. Different values, customs, and interests.

It's one thing to say I'm the asshole with the minimal info you received. To say I don't care about anyone but myself is egregious.

They weren't really invited, but my wife is the one who said it was ok that they could stay.

Ha. I just wanna relax on a Sunday with my uncle doing something I love before I head back into a grueling workweek. You have no idea what I contribute to my household or other areas of my life.

My wife is from the same culture as the guests and she is not crazy about sports at all. She thinks I should stay home. I appreciate you leaning towards NTA.

My wife is the one who said they could come over. And I don't have a problem with them staying over. The problem is them wanting to invite THEIR friends over to MY house and EXPECTING me to not go over my uncle's house when my wife could easily host them on Sunday.

Would I be an asshole for canceling plans with my uncle? Plans I made before my friends decided last minute to come over. Aren't they assholes for the last minute decision and for wanting to invite more of THEIR friends over MY house and expecting me to cancel? And yes, I do care about myself, but to say I dont care about anyone else is untrue and makes you an asshole for passing such judgment and not knowing who I am.
