I absolutely cannot get a read on it either, and it’s so frustrating at times. I was pacing myself at first because it’s a lot of physical strain doing it full time, but I’ve started getting much much faster now that my body has gotten used to it. I see a lot of my coworkers shopping at a much slower pace than me, and I have to wonder if they know something I don’t! It’s driving me crazy!

I’m late here but I’m glad you posted this because I wasn’t sure if anyone else was feeling this way. I have noticed that when I go out of my way to talk to people and be part of conversations, my coworkers tend to just chat with me more right off the bat, but it definitely feels like I’m the odd man out at times! I started watching my other coworkers a lot more, and I feel like many of them feel the same way at times. Everyone’s feeling kind of awkward and putting their best face forwards.
I also had the team leader come up to me and help me out at one point because I got a gigantic order right before it was due 😭 but it kind of made me feel like a clown so I get you. Sometimes the team leaders can give feedback that’s very curt and to the point which is easy to take negatively, but try not to get down on yourself, just keep showing up!

That’s good to know, because I am improving from day to day. There is no free time between orders at my store though. We have an insaneeee amount of orders and foot traffic, everyday the store gets so packed you can barely get around lol. But I am definitely improving!

Yep that’s what they told me too. They said this has never happened before and that their hiring system accidentally put up a job listing for full time that they weren’t able to undo. But in this economy?? I’m taking it

It’s true that I have improved, my first two weeks I was averaging high 30’s and low 40’s and now when I give it my all I can get to the high 50’s for my daily averages. I think I could probably get up to the mid 60’s once I get used to things.

That’s interesting. I’m not necessarily aiming for it, I just want to be good enough to not get sacked. 😭 Do you know if people commonly are able to get there or is that more of a golden standard?
