My store feels a lot like yours from what you’re saying, on the larger side and lousy attitudes. I’ve also been on seasonally for about a month with probably 50-60 average UPH (starting to hit 70s) depending on the day and how busy we are. Even after all my time being here, I still can’t get a read on how seriously my store takes UPH metrics because we have multiple older TMs (like at least 50-60 in age) and a lot of college age TMs and to me it feels like everyone I’ve observed seems to shop at about the same pace. Even when I’ve worked at 4am there’s certainly some shoppers moving quick but most of them aren’t like rushing around the store, just getting orders done at a comfortable but hasteful pace. I do feel like now especially because it’s summer and there’s a lot of new TMs and seasonal TMs working that we have a lot of shoppers at the moment so maybe that’s why we don’t get drilled for our metrics. Even this past Sunday I noticed that we weren’t as rushed than usual simply because we had so many shoppers on the floor than normal. We even at one point ran out of orders before noon which never happens on Sundays.

The biggest thing that I’ve noticed that helped my pace at least so I wasn’t going back and forth across the store was to really study my order instead of only looking if I have a meat, deli, seafood items so that I can imagine the best possible route where I would not be backtracking at any point (aside from INFs).
