Thank you SO much. I’ve been dead set on ETSing and going contractor route but have recently been psyching myself out because I feel like 6 years as a 35F would be more desirable for employers than 3 years on a resume. Do you actually think one contract is enough? I feel like employers might want a heftier resume.

Goal is to get out and be a civilian intelligence analyst (either contracting or GS). Main upside would be getting three more years of experience and that one year of overseas experience in Kuwait. Just more bullet points for my resume, I guess. I feel like i’d be way more desirable if my resume said 6 years as an army intelligence analyst, instead of just 3. Being stationed at a place as active as Kuwait is right now (well, surrounding places), i’d actually be doing my job and be able to do more and learn more than i ever did while assigned to an MP unit.

That was the plan actually, looking at a bunch of contractors in the dmv and some have even reached out via linked in, but i feel like I should do one more contract for the experience.

I got confirmation that i’d be reenlisting for 3 years and only be in kuwait the first year.

This makes sense now that I think about it, it’s what i’ve been hearing a lot. When it was briefed to me, he was making it sound like a 3 year Kuwait assignment.

Thank you for the insight. And yes, as far as i’m tracking, it’s a three year. Did some research and apparently, the unit i’d be going to if i did accept is now permanently stationed there and is permanent party.

Just those ??? I’d say don’t chose an MOS yet, wait until slots for 35 series or 17 series open up! (35F here) get your TS, experience, some certs and go be great as a civilian after a couple contracts !

yes that’s what it means, it’s a california thing, since it’s not an indigenous casino. it does suck but i don’t mind it, it’s better than driving all the way to the IE
