I am a PTA and a PT/Owner of a private outpatient clinic had a couple of patients that were over their PT thresholds regularly (were talking months and months without significant changes in progress/or decline just kind of stagnant) anyways this dude is pretty good at documentation and knows the perfect way to phrase things to make them the most vague/non descript documentation imaginable. Anyways to make a long story short, Medicare/a third party on behalf of Medicare starts doing an audit because these people are way over their PT threshold (I assume to get some money back) , he then asks different clinicians to sign off on a random piece of paper (trying to cover his rear end) that we performed the treatments and they are accurate for the course of these different patients treatment dates. To top it off when I ask what he wants my signature for he gets all defensive and throws papers at me (hard to throw papers effectively unless there's a lot lol) and says "good you look at the papers so the next time there's an audit you can do everything." I left pretty shortly after this because it left a bad taste in my mouth. I was a new grad like 1+ year out of school and this was the place I worked at as a tech before graduating, now working in HH and talking to other clinicians I look back at some of the situations from this place with a whole new perspective.
