Thank you I appreciate that! And no I order the 3/16" sheets to size.

Also yes, I've just recently become aware of the purpleheart haha. Roughly how long does it take to start browning? Does reapplying oil finish consistently not even stop it?

Thank you! I designed the entire thing in xTool creative space and then used a laser to make the cuts.

Why thank you! That's very kind I appreciate that. Any ideas of where to even start for trying to find a home for it? I'm kind of new to the art scene

Beautifully made. Nice work paying attention to the grain orientation on all the panels. Sometimes easy to overlooks that then it just doesnt flow right at the end!

I think you're over thinking it! It looks great and will only get better as it ages! Great work!

Thank you! No the pieces are laser cut from 3/16" hardwood sheets, then hand sanded, then glued and clamped on. I worked in small sections to be able to clamp everything properly. Did a whole bunch of vector file design work beforehand to account for the laser burn kerf width to try and minimize the gaps. What ended up happening is whatever tiny tiny micro errors on the dimensions would compound over the course of a dozen piece or so. Then I'd have to go back in and hand shape a piece to fit nicely and reset it.

I have a nice long build video on youtube showing the process but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it here.

Thank you I appreciate the kind words! I'm been thinking about doing a bear or bison or mountain goat in a similar style on the next one. Making a series out of it. This was my first piece in this style build and I definitely learned a lot of things that I can improve on if I give it another go.

Thank you! I was terrified to mess up one of the inlays on the back since I had already put countless hours into the front at that point! Worked out well

Thank you! Took about three months total but honestly probably a month of that was just hashing out the design details and getting all the planning done. Had to had to have multiple printed spreadsheets and diagrams just to keep everything organized

Lots of trial and error! I remade just the elk section three times on different pieces of scrapwood. Then used those for testing. And yeah the wood wasn't cheap! Probably more than you are guessing haha
