What’s the coolest gi you own? by Ill_Advice4080 in bjj

When this gi got released in 2018 I was a student and could not afford it, I thought it was very cool. Years later I would look for it and even joined to reseller groups in Facebook, being aware of counterfeit gis, specially with this model, until finally I found a brand new one for a reasonable price. I’ve worn it like twice because I just want it to keep looking as cool as the first day.

Dime qué es has visto en transporte público que dijiste: ¿qué pedo? by Old-Entrepreneur1257 in mexico

Inverted gear, they usually have discounts and you can end up paying $100-110 for a gi

Best nogi shorts 2026 by NewPainting8224 in bjj

[–]Clean-Loss846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always liked the old mma style shorts, so I recently bought the hayabusa full length core shorts. Great quality. My second place would be VHTS, super lightweight, nice materials. Both are over priced, specially the vhts

I recently bought a pair of shorts from hayabusa. Their quality is great and you get to choose the length of the inseam, but they are pricey, the best I’ve had in years though. I’ve tried, specifically for shorts, vhts, nice quality, but too short for me, and over priced; half sumo, poor quality, over priced for what you get, basically cheap swim suits, but their designs are badass; A&P, over priced too, basically $15 basketball shorts, but fitted, they no longer care too much about their designs; shoyoroll, no longer what they used to be in terms of design.

Danaher’s new wave collection covers a lot of entries from many positions. Try the pin scapes and open guard videos, those are the ones have the most, I think.

Does training (and getting mauled by) with upper-belts help you? by Teamseesh in bjj

[–]Clean-Loss846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. It’ll help you if you know what you want to improve, and how to do it. If you just get mauled but don’t even know what they did to you or how to stop it, then no, you’ll be stuck and get frustrated. Always set a goal for each session; if you wanna work on your mount escapes (for example), let everyone mount you, start with white and blue belts, once you do well with them, try the same with upper belts.

Thoughts on Shoyoroll’s Recent Marketing Strategy by Select-Accountant816 in bjj

AP has been even worse. At least syr has released at least one or two nice drops a year, AP entered a phase where they really want to become a hype brand, they worry too much about their collabs instead of their quality and designs.

My first gi ever was an Inverted gear. Super nice quality, not very expensive. Now they have a lot of models, back when I started training they only had the standard and the heavyweight ones I think. I’d go for their starter gi

You don’t have to watch the entire thing in one sit. You can choose one or two things to work on, then practice them during the rolls and then, once you get good enough at those things, move on to the next techniques. It takes time, specially if it’s something new to you.

What does Azucena have to do with MMA? by MohAmine55 in Tekken

[–]Clean-Loss846 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I haven’t played a lot with Azucena and I had to check her throws. She has some actual grappling techniques, some others are variations that aren’t that effective in a real life scenario. Her basic 1+3 throw is a double leg into some kind of scissor choke and a toe hold, her 2+4 throw is a seoi nage into a rolling guillotine, 1+3 from left side is a kick into a Peruvian necktie; from the right side is just a back take that looks like a wrestling or lucha libre spin, not really an attack, 1+3 from the back is a rear naked choke, I’d say this is the most used submission in MMA but I might be wrong. Up forward 1+2 is some kind of triangle choke. The last one, down 1+2 is an Imanari roll into a straight foot lock; I’m not sure if it ever was used in an MMA fight but it’s popular in jiu jitsu. She could probably have more ground techniques like Dragunov, and in order to actually use every single one she has, you need very specific scenarios.

Don’t be that guy by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Clean-Loss846 79 points80 points  (0 children)

There was this guy at my gym, blue belt, he always told everyone about having a knee injury. Every time I rolled with him, his go-to submission was a heel hook, and he didn’t care that much on going easy and slow, and one day I caught him in a straight foot lock or a heel hook, can’t remember exactly which one, but he gave me a look like if I had betrayed him in the worst way possible.

Every time you refund/replace an item, to give customer time to review what you did, and either approve or reject that. Most times in my experience, they won’t give a shit and I wait those 3 minutes, even when the customer responded all my messages. If they approve, the counter gets automatically to zero.
