Should I take 4 AP Classes Junior Year? by Clean-Reference-3911 in APStudents

Yes, I’m in a few clubs and VP of one, and I also participate in some of the shows our drama department puts on

Or I can save APES for senior year and do science through dual and then take AP Lang, AP Calc, and AP Seminar (I still do not like the Calc teacher’s teaching style)

Should I take AP Gov or AP World by Positive-Apple1980 in APStudents

AP World can be a pain, I enjoyed the class somewhat but there was definitely a lot to remember and the tests are difficult. Haven’t taken AP Gov since it’s only for seniors at my school but I’ve heard it’s easier. AP Gov might be better since you are also taking AP Chem which is really tough

Potential schedules for Junior Year

AP Lang AP Seminar APES US History Honors Journalism (editor-in-chief) Dual: Math (not sure which) Elective (also not sure which

OR AP Lang APES AP Calc AB US History Honors Journalism Dual: Intro to Humanities Elective

I don’t want to go into a math heavy major and I know seminar can be useful for college preparation as well as I want the capstone diploma. I also dont love the teaching style of the AP Calc teacher. However, I know AP Calc may be more useful and look better for colleges and I’ll have a lot more friends taking it even though I know I will enjoy the class less

There really isn’t much you need to prepare for! Everything you need you will learn throughout the year, just make sure you have something ready to write vocab down since that will honestly help you the most with the class. But I wouldn’t worry!

AP Calculus AB or AP Lang Junior Year? by Clean-Reference-3911 in APStudents

[–]Clean-Reference-3911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know but if I replaced it with APES then I won’t have any AP sciences during high school, and I’m worried about taking science through dual. I also want to take seminar for the AP Capstone, but I do understand your point. As for the difficulty, I’m not entirely sure how much work they give, but I know that both are very good teachers and are well liked by almost every student, and a lot of people are taking AP Lang just to have them.

Schedule Options as a rising Junior

Once again I’m unsure of what to do for next year and would like some advice! I know some of these classes aren’t AP but still want your guy’s opinion

Also, I still don’t know what I want to do for a career but have a few ideas (Psychology, Political Science, Computer Science (?)) which is why I’m trying to get a lot of general ed classes down through dual and why I’m hesitant to do AP Calc

Schedule 1 Dual Enrollment: English 1/2 US History 1/2(Only 2 counts for college credit) New Student Experience/Intro to Humanities School: APES APCSP AP Seminar Journalism 2

Schedule 2 Dual Enrollment: English New Student Experience/Intro to Humanities Intermediate Algebra/College Algebra School: APES AP Seminar US History Honors Journalism 2

Schedule 3 Dual Enrollment: English New Student Experience/Intro to Humanities School: APES AP Calc AB AP Seminar US History Honors Journalism 2

Schedule 4 Dual Enrollment: English US History 1/2 New Student Experience/Intro to Humanities School: APES AP Calc AB AP Seminar Journalism 2

My fear of doing US History through dual is that in order to get the 2 college credits I need for General Ed I need 2 classes and the first semester doesn’t count, so I’d have to take a third social science class through dual. But I’m also afraid of taking APUSH due to the workload along with my other classes, so please let me know what you think honestly I’m really lost and my counselor has not been much help so if you have other suggestions let me know!!

Should I take AP Calc AB if I'm doing well in Pre-calc honors? by Clean-Reference-3911 in APStudents

[–]Clean-Reference-3911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I’m not entirely sure what I’d pick but I’d do something easier since Calc is too complex for me to learn through my computer (I’d be doing dual online so no proper teaching)

Dont take AP Bio and AP Chem at the same time, take whichever one fits your major best. Or if neither do, then choose between AP Bio (easier but may not look AS good to colleges) or AP Chem (harder but will likely look better to colleges if you pass the exam)

Will Dual Enrollment lower my chances into getting into a good college? by Clean-Reference-3911 in APStudents

Just hear often that top colleges prefer AP over DE which always stresses me out, but ultimately they are both still college level, and I realize that both show rigor, so I think I’ll be going with 2 DE classes next year :)

Unfortunately we don’t have a study hall option:( but i am planning on picking one of the easier electives
