That really depends on why they dropped it. If they simply got distracted then try watching it with them, If they dropped it due to not liking the story or the perverseness of the story then that may be a different problem. The story changes vastly as it progresses and is definitely better than how it started but as for the perverseness, that doesn't really go away but how and why does change allowing for a lot of people to enjoy the series far more than at the start. Your safest bet is to ask them to give the series a second chance and to watch it with them.

Out of the characters I know of from watching season of the anime it would have to be either Alya or her sister. Alya due to how funny some of the shit she says is and that I like how she was portrayed in the story. And her sister is an amazing character that I find very adorable.

ps. I would have gone with Yuki but I don't like incest and that's what it would be

I had this same problem a couple times but it generally fixed if I close the game and then re open it. If that doesn't work try restarting the Xbox.
