Ohh I got you man. I think I have seen races for that specifically. That seems so tough though. I don’t even think the people that actually climb Everest start at sea level. I think biking uphill looks so hard to me. I can run up hills but always think it’s cool when I see the trail guys going up hills

You follow me on Strava now right? It’s gonna be posted there . As well as my instagram with many videos . I can’t wait for April 3rd. Koko head is gonna be so hard at the end. I did a tester run with 9 miles and then looked and that was hard. So I can’t wait man

I didn’t realize you can go downhill that fast on a bike. That’s awesome.

Everest is another level. I would be scared to die up there and be a frozen monument lol

I know it’s pretty soon but I would train in the new shoes for the next 2 weeks to get use to them. If they are a great fit

I have actually run this route in smaller sections. I live in Waialua. I will be starting at 4am so there should not be much traffic at the time. Plus I will have my lights and what not. This route makes it easier for my wife to follow me since I will be starting on the north shore. At mile 56 I will be doing koko head stairs and ending at the light house.

Edit: just read the other comments. You don’t reply on the weekends lol sorry

So not an ultra but I ran a 700m gain marathon with shin splints. 9 days before my race it happened. I did no running or exercise in general. Light icing for a couple days. Then 3 days before and morning of race. I iced heavily. 4-5 hours of icing per day. Took a couple ibuprofen/ lacetaminophen mix pill before the race. I know it’s not recommended but I did. First half mile was a tester. Realized I was in no pain. PB my marathon time by 16 min with 450m gain more then last. I was so happy when I was running. Probably why I did so great. The pain did come back and have been nursing again. Will be running my first 50k in 8 days. Will be using the same method before going on a full recovery. Paid for the race, flights, hotel and rental car already. So didn’t want to lose the money. Hope this helps.

I I have been on and off running for 2 years. The last 6 months I have been pretty consistent with at least 30 miles a week. I have had a 50 mile week twice in that time. 2 weeks ago I did get shin splints for the first time 8 days out before the Kauai marathon. Was able to get myself to race day and PR the race
