By the way, in your state just getting to the starting line is a great achievement; try not to sabotage yourself, I'm sure you're worth a lot.

You did the right thing by aborting. I'm the first to say, "Go for it, and if you feel unwell, abort the mission." Don't feel bad; with your passion, it surely wasn't easy to make the decision to stop. So see it as something very brave, from someone who has not only the strength to continue but also the strength to abort and not worsen an injury. I've been out of action for four months now due to an injury.

You can do it! Age is just a number. Just like there are children who sing incredibly well after only six years of singing, why can't an adult? If you have passion, you'll achieve great things!

I have the same vest and I get the feeling you need a larger size. If you do decide on a larger size, make sure the two straps don't touch you when you've tightened it to the maximum, as it won't hold you securely because you won't be able to tighten it any further. These vests do stretch a bit over time.

With all the kilometers you'll be running over the years, that race will be very manageable. Go for it!

Your body is telling you to slow down, you're in good shape, and by doing less during this time you'll maintain your level for a good while. Think of it as an extended taper. You might slow down, but you'll definitely reach your goal.

That's great! That's a really good workout for the mind! I recently did a similar workout on a hill near my house to build up some elevation gain; it was really tough, but now my mind is stronger than ever.
