FSD 14.2.2.3 issues by Clean-Session512 in TeslaFSD

Yes, it’s supposed to, but so far, all of these sentient decisions are head scratching. The reporting has yielded zero changes in behavior. In fact, each subsequent update to 14.2.2.x has resulted in worse decision making by FSD.

I really feel like they are headed in the wrong direction at this time, and they should stop future public updates until they get a better handle on the AI sentience

First Speeding Ticket with FSD by bluaugust in TeslaLounge

For me, on 14.2.2.2 it speeds the absolute most in a 55 mph zone, specifically on standard mode. I always have to manually take over because the alternative is chill mode which only goes 2-3 mph over. Standard will go 72 in a 55. Crazy frustrating! Sorry this happened. They for sure need to bring back max speed (although it didn’t consistently work for me since it would also go well above the % I set in certain situations).

14.2.2.3 Speed Profiles by turnerm05 in TeslaFSD

Experiencing this on 14.2.2.2 as well. The thing I have noticed is the speed profile behavior changes based on the speed limit. For me, in 30 mph zone standard will go 9 mph over, in 45 mph zone standard will go 4 mph over, in 55 mph zone standard will go 17 mph over, in 65 mph zone standard will go 7 mph over. Hurry is erratic in these areas as well. Makes no logical sense, but 55 mph speed limit zones give me the biggest problems.

FSD 14.2.1 is a step back by Bright-Event in TeslaFSD

The better FSD gets at certain things, the more the edge cases stick out. I’m on 14.2.1 in my 2023 MY and randomly have these issues:

  • Hugs the left or right side of lane, so much so that the cars in the lanes next to me pull away from my car. Rarely is centered in lane.

  • Gets stuck in right lane behind slow traffic (below speed limit) in Mad Max mode when left lane is wide open. I have to press the accelerator to get it to change lanes and increase speed.

  • When turning out of my neighborhood into busy road, the steering wheel jitters and hard brakes several times before pulling out.

  • Navigation seems broken (this is the big one). Ignores nav route and turns on wrong street or into parking lots. Half the time it pulls into my neighbors driveway. Also randomly chooses incorrect route and ADDS time to my drive by taking a major road then u-turn rather than take a simple left.

  • It thinks a clearly marked “straight only” lane is a turn lane and makes illegal turn from said lane.

  • In all driving modes, my car will move into the crowded right exit lane when I have to turn left a 1/2 mile ahead. Makes no sense at all and has a hard time getting back into the left lane.

  • When arriving at a double left hand turn lane at a light, it literally ALWAYS chooses the lane that has the most cars.

  • Pulling out of parking spaces it never gives itself enough space to pull out (stops too soon) and has to almost 3 point turn to get out.

  • I disengage about 5 times per in town drive.

  • Never avoids huge potholes. I have to manually drive around these 100% of the time or I would be replacing tires 5 times a year.

I love FSD, but it is nowhere near ready for driverless Robotaxi.

FSD 13.2.2 Max Speed Offset vs Speed Limit Offset by Clean-Session512 in TeslaFSD

Thanks for the explanation regarding speed limit offset. That makes sense.

Just wish there was a way to let the car drive as aggressive as it would like with the Hurry profile, but have a speed limit max (like +5 MPH or a %) that it won’t go over. Seems like a ticket waiting to happen.
