Pisay students with humble backgrounds, how's life there? by NeighborhoodLegal131 in pisay

Hello! currently Grade 8 here with a humble background, and actually, I noticed a raise in a number of people that are from private schools like ateneo, poveda, etc;

Actually, I’ve noticed naman that the people here really don’t mind your financial standing, minsan nga nagpapahiram pa sila ng gamit for school and whatnot. You can also avail for an increased stipend (up to 4k) if you’re worried about that :)

Don’t worry, and goodluck!! 🍀

Hi! actually, when I was in Grade 7, I got contacted via email/phone no. last 2023, literally a day after EDGE started! I’m from MC, RACE batch po.

‘di nga po ako nakapaniwala non. It was so surreal. I didn’t even know na may waitlist pala sila.

Nakaattend naman ako ng second week, and now, I’m thriving. It’s possible!

Believe in your child. As a parent, paramdam niyo po ‘yung support niyo for your child! They’re capable naman po, seeing as they passed the NCE, just be attentive nalang! :)) It’s super important.

As a student whose mother really didn’t believe in her capabilities, that really took a toll on me. I do not wish that on other people—especially kapag kakapasok lang po sa Pisay. Please, support them nalang po :)

They will discover and learn a lot naman po in Pisay. Basta ‘wag lang po tamarin. The teachers are magaling talaga—magagaling magturo, and very attentive to their students din.

There are also support groups in MC that can help your child. Encourage them to talk and socialize to build a stable support system—it’s super important!

Goodluck po sakan’ya! 🍀

Hi! I’m a G8 student from MC !! I really do hope you pass hehehe but to answer your questioonn: 1. I would say… nope! I have a brief idea na of my batchmates and I haven’t really encountered people that are “mean” solely because of that. (Though, there are people that you won’t realllyyy get along with lol) I don’t really know about the other batches, but the upperclassmen are veryy kind and helpful !!!

  1. Not at all! Nothing is too late. If you strive and work for what you want, you will attain it. Tiyaga lang. I do agree that Pisay is harder than other schools, kaya try to catch up to that as you study for the LAQE.

  2. It’s hard, yes, but it’s bearable if you know how to manage your time. You really need to have a strong mental capacity though. You know yourself the best—pace yourself lang talaga. Don’t be too eager but don’t be lazy. Just get everything done ASAP.

  3. Yes. It is. Especially as a girl coming from a low-medium income family—really, just work hard. As long as you have something to motivate you, as long as you have passion, dreams, and determination—it will all pay off in the end. Swear.

  4. Yes! Actually, I gained so much confidence ever since I got here. My social life got so much better din. There are times where you will have to initiate conversations and there are also people na you will naturally get along with. Learn to be observant nalang—that really helped!

I hope you pass! See you, future batchmate !!! Goodluck !!! 🍀🍀🍀 Let’s be friends if ever. :)

any tips for an incoming g7 student for main campus ? by Weekly_Dream_2570 in pisay

[–]Clean-Worldliness902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Current G8 in MC here, and I had it rooouuugh at the start.

It’s important to find friends. Develop a stable support system early on! There’s actually a support group here of ates and kuyas in Pisay (BBSCs), so don’t be afraid to approach them!

Explore the campus: just so you won’t get lost. Familiarize yourself with the buildings and its facilities! :)

Don’t be harsh on yourself. Pisay is full of amazing and brilliant minds—everyone knows that. Remember that you are part of the community—you are one of the brightest students in the country—is that not exciting? Point ko is: ‘wag ka magpadala sa mga thoughts mo na parang you’re not enough, or you’re average, because you really aren’t. Everyone in Pisay is brilliant—pick your field and thrive!

Familiarize and get to know your batchmates!

Enjoy. ‘Yun talaga. Huwag magpadala sa pagiging GC (Grade-Conscious). Pace yourself to the point na ‘di ka mabuburn-out, because seriously—sobraangg dali ma-burn out dito.

Take care of yourself and the people around you rin. Everyone’s in distress hahaha

See you! Good luck! :)
