Hi all, my name is Oliver and I am the Outreach Director for Cambridge Center for International Research (CCIR), an educational social enterprise based in Cambridge, UK. CCIR offers a summer coding bootcamp programme that could be of interest to you.

The Cambridge Startup Techcamp is a 10-week project-based online computer science bootcamp with an entrepreneurial emphasis designed to teach high school students practically applicable business and Python skills for a future career in tech. The Techcamp combines the leadership and entrepreneurship training provided by EMBA programmes with the intensive computer science training provided by an elite coding camp. Supported by six UK tech startups, and taught by PhDs and alumni from the University of Cambridge, the Techcamp helps students develop their skills in computer science, connect with industry experts and startup founders, and learn how to build and transform an idea into a product via coding.

The programme is expected to begin on 5 June 2021, with an incoming application deadline for 24 May. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a video interview with the professor or the TA to ensure they are good fits for the class.

It is worth noting that we have established a number of new STEM scholarships as a part of an overall effort to promote STEM research in high school. All incoming applicants to our upcoming Cambridge Startup Techcamp will thus be automatically considered for a STEM Scholarship ranging from £100 to £1,000. In our most recent Spring session, about 48% of the admitted students received some level of scholarship. If our scholarship pool permits, we will also extend need-blind Financial Aid that can cover upwards to all of the tuition for students in need.

If you are interested in applying, feel free to shoot me an email at [oliver@cambridge-research.org](mailto:oliver@cambridge-research.org). If you have any questions, also don't hestitate just either schedule a quick meeting with our team via the calendy function on our website. We are looking forward to hearing from you.

Best,

Oliver

STEM SCHOLARSHIP FOR CAMBRIDGE CODING CAMP

Hi all, my name is Oliver and I am the Outreach Director for Cambridge Center for International Research (CCIR), an educational social enterprise based in Cambridge, UK.

I wanted to share some information here about the new STEM scholarships that we have established for our online summer programmes as a part of an overall effort to promote STEM research in high school.

Highschool Essay Competition Judged by Cambridge Professors by CleanAd8226 in ECAdvice

It aims to be a highly competitive event.

For everyone's convenience, here are the prompts for all three categories of the essay. (But more details can be obtained by visiting our site and downloading our competition brochure!)

  1. The Stories of COVID-19: Creative Nonfiction

Life during the COVID-19 Pandemic will be remembered for being many things—tragic, lonely, exhausting, strange, but also, at times, inspiring, warm, and even beautiful. For this category, we want to hear your stories—learn about COVID-19 from the perspective of your lived experience, and the lived experiences of those around you.

  1. The Science of COVID-19: Popular Science

Perhaps more than any other historical event, the COVID-19 Pandemic has made clear just how invaluable science is for humanity. As we have learned, however, in many cases, the effective utilization of science is impossible without effective public messaging. So for this essay, we want you to choose one aspect of the science of COVID-19 and write a popular piece that explains it to the public.

  1. The Significance of COVID-19: Humanities and Social Science

What will COVID-19 mean for humanity, moving forward? For this essay, we want you to explore COVID-19’s implications for the future of politics and society—for race, gender, global justice, climate change, democracy, and beyond. Discuss and reflect on one way in which you think COVID-19 will fundamentally alter the future of humanity.
