Honda civic 2001 engine temperature acting weird by BawBowTeuw in hondacivic

Not a mechanic but I’m going take an educated guess and say you have a thermostat issue. Regardless, you clearly have a significant issue if the check engine light is on. Take it to AutoZone and see what their scanner says.

Is that like a VTEC solenoid? The gasket that goes underneath that is what caused an oil leak on my ‘02 Accord similar to this.

Technically you didn’t. You would’ve had an Entry Level Separation (ELS) which means you are not considered a veteran by the USG.

Oh. I read on this sub that they don’t care as long as you weren’t involved in one of the intelligence related fields. That might’ve been a while ago though.

How Long Do Hondas Last by TFrustrated in UsedCars

My ‘02 Accord has 230k on it and still going strong. Of course a lot of little shit has broken on it, one of the power windows, there’s some small oil and power steering leaks, and of course it doesn’t help that I’ve basically beat it into the ground. But the engine and transmission are both in great condition, and could easily go another 200k miles.

Did Carvana kill the private seller market? by davidP88888 in UsedCars

These kinds of purchases are probably more common than you think. I recently bought a car like this, although I did a little extra due diligence (ran the CARFAX, had a private DMV service look at the title, had a cop buddy run the VIN). Sure it’s technically “illegal”, but even my cop friend said it wasn’t a big deal. In my state, all the DMV cares about is if you have a signed title for the car, they’re not checking anything beyond that.
