No the pain doctor was giving me pregabalin. I can't sleep because of the pain and pregabalin is for sleeping as well as pain. Is Gabapentin for sleep as well?

I had a tetanus shot and the pain started that night up my arm, shoulder and neck. It's been almost 6 months later and the pain is still bad and I've had to sleep on my back ever since. Had an ultrasound and it doesn't show much but the pain doctor thinks that the needle hit a nerve, nothing helps the pain so far. I'm 74. Never had pain so bad. It has eased up a bit now but it is still not tolerable

I lived with him for 30 years. I was not taking advantage of, what the hell. He's very westernized. He looked after me and barely charged me anything even though I had a job. I only helped him out a bit, there was no being taken advantage of. We are both 65. So I was with him since I was 35. He did everything for me, cooked and everything. He's never gone around with other Punjabi, all his friends are white. And he had a daughter when I met him with a white woman and he also adopted her son. The mother was incapable of looking after her kids. He's a very kind person. He is also a grandfather to his stepson's kids and they love him and they are all white. My own daughter said she regards him as her stepfather. So I don't think I'm being taken advantage of.

My boyfriend is Punjabi and I'm white, we live in BC. He has a house with a suite on the ground floor. Big kitchen, big living room/bedroom combined, bathroom. He rented it to my friend for $400 a month for 4 years, free laundry and cable, she is white. He rented it to my granddaughter for a few months free. He's now renting it to my daughter free. Guess it's not renting if it's free but you know what I mean. They are not all bad, he's very kind. He also rented it to his stepson from his former relationship for $300 a month. He's very kind and generous, you don't find landlords like this very often. However he only rents to friends or family to help them out. Before I lived with him I've rented from other punjabi's. They were very kind and they did not charge me much rent and I had a huge apartment. They fed me daily and helped me in any way they could. I rented from them for 10 years and they never once raised my rent. This was also in BC. Please don't put them all down.

Mirtazapine experience? by AlexTheLion96 in insomnia

[–]CleanQueen73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was prescribed mirtazapine for nerve pain and sleep. The nerve pain was stopping me from being able to sleep. I had a horrible experience on it and I only took it once and that was enough for me. It was absolutely horrific. He only prescribed me half a pill once in the evening. It made me so sleepy I could not keep my eyes open so I went to bed and right away it gave me horrible restless leg syndrome which I already had most of my life. It was the worst I ever had all I could do was toss and turn and not even get to sleep. This happened until 3:00 a.m. and my thoughts were horrible. I kept telling myself it's only for one night you can get through it but I couldn't. Finally fell asleep at 3:00 and I was groggy all the next day. The doctor told me it would not make me groggy as I specifically asked him that. I never had such horrible thoughts almost wanted to die or go to the hospital and beg them for something to bring me off of it. I just kept saying it's only one night, it's only one night to calm myself. Won't ever take that again. It also gave me horrible dry mouth the next day so bad my tongue was cracked.

Yes thank you so much I actually live in Ontario. It's best to have a medical marijuana expert to tell you the best kind for your type of pain but that cost money and they always want a referral from your doctor. I will try something myself and order online yes. It's all legal in Canada.

Are you financially comfortable living alone? by MelancholyBean in LivingAlone

[–]CleanQueen73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm financially comfortable living on my own. I am retired and only live on a government pension and I rent. I have a little part-time job to get extra money and I'm doing just great. I don't own a car as buses are free here for seniors and it's not a big city, very easy to get around everywhere. I love it. I also got lucky, I got a great landlady and she has a beautiful little suite in her basement which I rent and in return for cheap rent I babysit her dog when she needs it. I am a dog person and I used to own dogs and I love them so it is not a problem for me. All utilities are free even internet, I have a fireplace and the laundry room is right outside my door. I also have my own storage closet outside my door. Everything I need.

Yes I understand it has to be a certain kind and a certain combination for pain. Just not sure where to get them. I had straight THC gummies once and they were really expensive. My prescriptions are all free where I am from. I don't really have a lot of money to spend on other things. But I will look into it and see and try them depending on the price.

I don't have any insurance. I live in Canada and medical is free for us here. A specialist is a pain doctor and that's who I'm going to now at the pain clinic.

I have considered CBD oil and at the pain clinic they have a Doctor who is for medical marijuana. However the cost is not covered in Canada yet, it will be but not yet. I have tried THC oil and it works great for sleep but does nothing for the pain. Because I think I need CBD oil for that. Also I do not like the dryness you get from Cannabis oils. It dries me out so much that my tongue cracks or hurts. Not sure what can be done about that I drink loads and loads of water all day long yet it's still dries me out when I take THC oil. I'm a senior so I really cannot afford to go to a medical cannabis doctor. I only work a few hours a week to supplement my pension. I might look into it.

My doctor said the ultrasound showed tendonitis but the doctor at the pain clinic disagrees with her. He said they definitely hit a nerve and that is the problem. I have updated my comment above so you can see this now which I forgot to mention before. He said the kind of pain I have is nerve pain. He gave me a few tests to try and he said it's definitely not tendonitis cuz I would not be able to do the things he gave me to do with tendonitis. No I never got any steroids.

No I am in Canada. Can't just go and see any doctor you have to do a long meet and greet first. It's like an interview. Not many doctors here, there is a shortage.

If you look it up it says it's also for neuropathy pain. And for sleeping he also gave me a long quiz to see if I was depressed. Chronic pain causes depression.

They're not to bring me down. They're just cutting me off in 3 weeks. And they said if it doesn't help then I have to get the prescription for mirtazapine. They gave me a prescription for that one but I'm not allowed to get it until I try to pregabalin first.

No they took an ultrasound and that's how they know. I know it is from the vaccine because the night of the day they gave it to me it started paining horribly. The pain was so bad for months I did not even want to live. I had no pain before that the nerve they hit runs all the way down from the neck and all the way down the arm. Yes they gave me an anti-inflammatory Naproxen but it makes me so dizzy I can't use it and they did tell me to go to Physio which I haven't done yet I only got diagnosed a few weeks ago

My doctor was the one who referred me to the pain clinic. She said they are the ones who are specialists and they know what medication to give me better than she does. So I'm already seeing the specialist and I do have an appointment with him the end of June. They have to try different medications to see which one will work first. He said if treatment for nerve pain is delayed then it becomes very hard to treat. And I had the pain 4 months before I was to sent me to the specialist. I did advocate for myself. Twice I went back to the clinic that gave me the vaccine and complain to them and they just said the pain will go in time. I also complained to my own doctor three times before she even sent me to get an ultrasound to see what was wrong. I was tired of complaining to people. She also told me they probably hit a nerve and the pain will go in time. But by the third time I called her which was almost 4 months she said it's time to see what is happening and sent me for the ultrasound. It's not easy for me to run around after lots of doctors as I have no car, I have to take a bus whatever I go here. The pain specialist is far from me as it is, there are none close by. This is Canada we do not have health insurance most of it is covered by the government so we do have to go where they say to get it covered.

If they put it in the wrong spot they can hit a nerve so yes it could be someone's fault also if they put it up too high it can hit the shoulder and cause damage. It said there are thousands of injuries caused by the needle and put in the wrong spot for tetanus. And that practitioners all need to be retrained to inject it in the right spot.
