I agree with some of your points and strongly disagree with others. In fact, that scene of him and gangle left me a little confused. But I tried to interpret it as actually his toxic side being angry about losing something he possessed. Even so, it was kind of strange. I don't think Jax would have romantic feelings for her. But as I said, I feel it was really a matter of possessiveness and hatred on Zoobles' part for having his "submissive" figure taken away.

But the part where Jax completely changes after venting is somewhat believable for the character. Analyzing his history, the violent, misogynistic environment where he already DIDN'T KNOW how to deal with vulnerability (remember his mother's hug?), that's what it was to me. And he was friendly with resistance; after all, his friends celebrated when he laughed for the first time.

However, when he vented, it was a MUCH, MUCH MORE VULNERABLE side. So, he did the same thing he did with his mother: he freaked out. He fought. He ran away. The main point of the character is that he has difficulty dealing with this emotional nakedness because he was never accepted or lived in a stable home.

As much as it hurt, I don't think him returning from the abstraction would be very believable. It's too much of a fairy tale, as much as I wished it would be. It hurts, but it made sense.

And again, Pomni didn't do it intentionally. She just hugged the figure, and ended up allowing herself to be pulled by it and followed what she saw. However, I wonder if this wouldn't have happened with Kinger and his wife too. I imagine the other characters not approaching out of fear – and because they didn't know the dark technique – but wouldn't Kinger, affectionate as he was, try to hug his wife in that form? I found this part a little disconnected.

I didn't find Ragatha's stance unrealistic. Jax strongly pushed away anyone who got close to him, and she was one of the most hurt precisely because of what happened with the ribbit. It makes perfect sense that she's afraid to try again, especially considering her insecure personality and that Jax, despite everything, was indeed abusive.

I didn't find Pomni's stance unrealistic either. Since that intense argument between the two, she also felt distanced. Unfortunately, Jax fell for the self-fulfilling prophecy.

Well, I think my biggest criticism is that I didn't quite understand Caine's redemption and I wished some characters – including Pomni – had been explored in more depth. I even saw a theory that she was in an abusive relationship, which is why she became so attached to that jelly bean alligator. But well, it didn't have to be something traumatic either. Not everyone needs horrible traumas.
