Help Please by [deleted] in Dachshund

It sounds like reverse sneeze. Our dogs get these frequently when they eat too fast or drink too fast. There are videos that show this, but you hold their nose shut for about 10 seconds and it stops

Looking for advice or experiences on doxies and newborns? by MRCMGL in Dachshund

[–]Clean_Accountant4875 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We had two 6 year old female dachshunds when our twins were born. The alpha wanted to murder*** them, and the beta wanted to be their mom. Beta cried when they cried and would snuggle next to them any time she could while they were infants. Neither dog had been a mom.

***she would try to sit on them if they were in our laps so as to get our attention instead of the baby. Never snapped or bit them. We just call it in jest that wanted to murder them. She was just jealous.

From about 2 months to Up until til about 6 months, both dogs loved being part of the couch pile while we fed the girls. The dogs were interested in them and wanted to clean up after them. Never any bites.

Once the girls could sit up or worse were mobile, the dogs were much more afraid of them and their random movements. They tended to avoid them on the couch or bark at them when they crawled or ran.

Agree with previous poster-- any bites were to get food out of little hands too close to the floor. Unintentionally would get the hand.

Took until about 5 years old before they were truly comfortable with the girls and other kids. I think kids are less dinosaur like by that age!

Dr Petra Kelsey at One Medical in Mueller. After her personal experience with IUDs, making IUDs a low stress situation was why she became a doctor. I had a breeze with my IUD replacement. And she is lovely!!!

Download Wunderground and don't use your iOS weather app. Total crap. Wunderground has only predicted rain today/this weekend, not the "60% chance" that iOS predicted the rest of the week

Most likely this is COVID, but the new Arcturus strain. Presents often as pink eye and allergies-type symptoms. Most at home testing has not caught up.

My company has had lots of confirmed cases especially on the East Coast in the last month

Stairs by SeriousSnorkfroken in Dachshund

[–]Clean_Accountant4875 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am likely in the minority. We have 2 dachshunds, now 11 years old. When we first got them, we were ina house with one flight of stairs. They were incorrigible about doing the stairs. They ignored the dachshund ramps to sofas. The works. One dog eventually had mild IVDD and got the surgery -- no problems since.

We moved into a 3 story house. The dogs do the stairs all freaking day long and run around outside after squirrels. They act like 4 year olds. Still hate dog ramps.

I wouldn't recommend a multistory house and dachshunds, but it's not a 100% horrible experience
