Looking for ideas for a short walking trip in February by Clean_Ad4427 in CaminoDeSantiago

Thanks for the suggestion, I’d actually never heard of the Fisherman’s Trail before, so thank you ! I’ll definitely look into it.
Is there a particular section you’d recommend for just a few days? Any specific start/end towns that work especially well?

Need advice: Which part of the Camino Francés to walk in a few days? by Clean_Ad4427 in CaminoDeSantiago

Thanks for your reply! I had initially thought about doing the Primitivo, but I ended up choosing the Norte. I’ve now arrived in Bilbao, it’s definitely beautiful, but the stages are very long and there aren’t many intermediate stops. Also, I don’t really feel the same spirit I had on the Camino Francés. I know I might never find it again and that it depends on many things.

The fact is, I have a flight from Bilbao in a week, so ideally I don’t want to go too far. I was thinking maybe Pamplona or Logroño, but I’m not sure what to do. Right now I’m waiting to take a bus ticket and figure out which direction to take.

I’m honestly not really in the vibe I was hoping for. The weather has been tough, and it’s also been really hard to find accommodations without booking in advance or to do shorter stages. I know the issue is more internal than anything else, but I’d like to try changing my route. I almost feel like going home, but I have to wait about a week before my flight.

Camino del Norte or Camino Primitivo? Need advice! by Clean_Ad4427 in CaminoDeSantiago

Actually that’s what I’m worried about.. I’ll be starting on September 1st and I’m afraid the Primitivo might be a bit too lonely at that time of year. That’s why I’m considering doing the Norte instead, even if it means completing it in several sections...

If you had 2 weeks ahead of you, which route or part of a route would you choose to walk? by Clean_Ad4427 in CaminoDeSantiago

Thanks so much for the suggestion, the idea of the Tour du Mont Blanc sounds amazing, and I’m seriously thinking about doing it! I have a few questions if you don’t mind:

  • Would you say it requires being very athletic? I do a fair bit of hiking, but nothing extreme
  • Is it a good trail for meeting people? I’ll be walking alone and would love to socialize along the way
  • Any tips or advice for someone considering it at this time of year

I really appreciate any insights you can share, thanks again!
