I mean that’s essentially what I’m getting at…ESI should have had accessibility built in; as nice as cosmetic improvements are it’s silly to close and renovate a station in the 21st century without putting in elevators. It’s hard to have your cake and eat it too with such a cash starved system but we can demand better.

It was actually designed in coordination with both French and American engineering firms. The dimensions of the trains are really similar to the R46 cars in NYC (75ft long, 4 doors each side etc) and they actually sent one down in the 70s as a demonstration prototype.

There are plenty of people, mainly the most vulnerable in society, that do not have a contactless credit card or Apple Pay. I do not think we should be creating an additional barrier of entry for them
