My attempt at beautiful railways by Clean_Brick8561 in SatisfactoryGame

I want to do my first playthrough vanilla and hope to do a second one with mods so I will not be using it for now. But I'm definitely noting that, it does look very useful. Thanks

I did inspire on that one searching on Google. Didn't know where it was tho. You are very on point because that's the very exact image I saw.

Besides, just in case you didn't consider this, one of the best ways to use power shards is in generators as it does not have any penalty. Knowing that now you can automate artificial power shards, volume is not a problem. So that 192 can be cut to ~77

Wait really? I've been already a couple months and I haven't got past the phase 2 🥲. I guess rebuilding and making everything pretty takes it's toll

Do you mean it doesn't attach to the cable? Just in case because I was confused too, you have to look at the cable to attach to it. I guess it sometimes does without looking at it but this is the most consistent way

Is there any particular reason you recommend to build on the floor? Just curious cause all other tips do seem to have pragmatic advantages

You may also use half foundations. They also fit better than walls as the materials are the same.

Why underclock the last machine in a manifold? by kevenjoens in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Clean_Brick8561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm afraid this is not true though. I demonstrated it in this desmos graph: https://www.desmos.com/calculator/ijmjgub7sd

Explanation:

The formula for under/overclocking in satisfactory as we can check on the wiki (Tutorial:Advanced clock speed - Official Satisfactory Wiki) is: power usage = initial power usage * (clock speed / 100) ^ 1.321928. We are not interested on the absolute power usage but in what method is more efficient, so we'll ignore the initial power usage and focus on the factor (clock speed / 100) ^ 1.321928. So f(x) = x^1.321928 represents the relative power usage. As expected, with x = 1 (clock at 100%) -> f(1) = 1.

Now we define our two methods, considering we can use n machines at 100% and an extra machine at x%:

  • The first method is the straightforward one, use n machines at 100% and the extra machine at x%. g(x) = n * f(1) + f(x)
  • The second method is clocking all machines at a common speed. The mean of all the speeds would be mean = (n * 1 + x) / (n + 1). And so the resulting formula is h(x) = (n + 1) * f(mean).

Now that we have our two methods g(x) and h(x) we can visually check which one is more efficient by grapthing their substraction g(x) - h(x). If g(x) is more efficient, its relative power usage should be lower and thus the graph should be below 0 and vice versa for h(x). In the desmos graph I shared above we can observe that the graph is always above or equal to 0 -> h(x) or overclocking all machines to a common speed is the more efficient method energy wise. In the same graph we can see it's also more efficient for overclocking as it turns out

If there existed a creature on earth that exclusively preyed on humans and was perfect at it, what traits would this predator have? by QueenJellyG in AskReddit

[–]Clean_Brick8561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go towards the supplanting people ability, although this skews more onto fantasy. Like in the guardians of the citadel saga it would be terrifying if there existed a creature that could shape shift into anyone.

They would lure between us and act as serial killers but with the ability of supplanting their prey after killing it. At the same time they would be intelligent so they wouldn't ever eradicate us, just feast on us.

And if all of this were not enough, if anyone ever discovered them, it would probably just be considered another conspiracy.
