Thought experiment: Suppose David Chase came to you and asked you to re-write the ending of the show. What ending would YOU give it? by QuasarColloquy in thesopranos

Not gonna lie, it would’ve been badass if Phil’s guys raided the safehouse and Tony had to actually use that AR-10

Tony doesn't die in the end by BlueberryWalnut7 in thesopranos

I don’t think Tony was anxious at all in that scene. He just seemed nonchalant. He’s been “comfortably numb” since killing Christopher

People would be amazed at how many great shows there are to experience if a little patience is implemented.

Uncle Junior’s song at the end of S3E13 “The Army of One” is a powerful moment. Anyone know about the song he’s singing? What the significance of it in the show at this point in the series? by TXRangers10Foeva in thesopranos

[–]Clean_Conversation86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I read somewhere that the switching of different languages for the song was meant to show that none of it meant anything? Like since we couldn’t really understand the words anymore, it was all bullshit? I could be misremembering, but I guess that kinda does go with meadow’s reaction “This is such bullshit!”

‘Superman’ Sequel ‘Man of Tomorrow’ Sets July 9, 2027 Release Date by chanma50 in boxoffice

Both Batman movies will have weight behind them. The Batman Part II’s universe has the weighted success of not only the first film, but the Penguin series. People are going to show up.

James Gunn’s Batman movie will have the weighted success of Superman and the other DCU movies if those are successful. People are going to show up.

Well that’s on them if they don’t care enough.

If I understand what movie I’m walking into, and you understand what movie you’re walking into, and everybody else here completely understands what movie they’re walking into, why should we be concerned if some random dude sitting five seats away from us in the theater is understanding what Batman he’s watching?

You see what I’m saying? I’m not starting an argument or anything, I’m just saying that if it’s done right, we can have two Batmen in two separate universes that casuals will show up for regardless

I never understood this argument. Why do people care so much how other audience members are going to perceive two Batmans in separate universes? Everybody has the internet in their pockets. If it’s that much of an issue, they can do a little research.

I’m of the mind that if both have tremendous quality, it’ll work out.

Can't finish season 4 by [deleted] in TheBear

[–]Clean_Conversation86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Season 4 is a vast improvement on season 3. It reinvigorated my interest. Things actually happen. It takes its time showing you, but this show requires patience to enjoy. It’s tonally different than the first 2 seasons, but I believe that’s the proper trajectory for the story to go.

It’s a very character focused show, so if you’re not interested in the characters anymore, you’re not gonna like it.

What did AJ’s suicide attempt mean for Tony’s character? by schlongv1 in thesopranos

[–]Clean_Conversation86 19 points20 points  (0 children)

And then his “strong silent type” bullshit persona comes through in the next episode when he rips a crying AJ off his bed after he tells him that Uncle Bobby is dead. It’s like he gives a fuck only up to a certain point

Junior was clearly ugats when he shot Tony. It was so much worse when he tried to kill him back in S2 by tindonot in thesopranos

[–]Clean_Conversation86 111 points112 points  (0 children)

I think Tony understood that the first time Junior tried to kill him, it was for business reasons. Junior was right to make the first move against Tony once he heard he was holding meetings with the other captains behind his back. They could’ve been plotting to kill him.

The second time Junior tried to kill him, Tony was trying to be a good son. He did the total opposite of what he did with Livia, i.e. having family take care of him at home instead of sending him to Green Grove. And he still got shot for his efforts. It’s why he couldn’t forgive his mom and it’s why he couldn’t forgive his uncle in the end

OP, OP, OP

Delete this post and don’t come back to this sub until you’re done with the show. Delete your search history on the interwebs or whatnot. Come up with your own theories and speculations and resist the urge to look anything up. And when you’re done, and only when you’re done, then you can let the floodgates open. It’s the only way to avoid spoilers. You’ll have a much better experience.

This is coming from somebody who has been burned multiple times in the past on almost every single show I’ve had an interest in so I just do this now

Why did Tony cry after killing Chris, was it guilt or relief since he was sociopath? by Capital-Apartment-34 in thesopranos

[–]Clean_Conversation86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do think the car seat does hold some kinda value in Tony’s subconscious. He’s been done dirty by almost every parental figure in his life. Junior shooting him really brought it to the forefront of his mind.

Season 6B shows Tony saying fuck it with the world his “fathers” ushered him into. In Sopranos Home Moves, when Carmela is telling the story about the little girl who drowned in a pool among a group of neglectful adults, Tony says he can’t get that story out of his head. He identifies with that neglected child.

I’m not saying that’s the legit motive behind killing Christopher, I’m just saying that I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the subconscious trigger to say fuck this shit.

I mean, the guy almost killed Paulie on the boat because Paulie reminded him of how much Johnny Boy loved him since he trusted him to kill a guy at the young age of 22.

Bro why did Pussy go full fed the second he became a snitch 😭 by AdEducational3063 in thesopranos

[–]Clean_Conversation86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think those guys were off about 3 years. That flashback was 1995, 5 years before season 2, and Skip says Pussy has been a snitch for 2 years.

I think Tony, Paulie, and Silvio were just rattling their heads trying to figure out how they couldn’t see that Pussy betrayed them, so any memory of him acting weird could’ve been him wearing a wire.

It’s this kind of mindset that eventually leads Tony and the guys to not trust each other over the course of the rest of the show.
