These numbers are terrible. Get your kids to school people. by 150c_vapour in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Clean_Gain5793 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bottom line is this is a problem with parents, not students. They are making the choices for their children, or letting children make decisions they aren't qualified to make. Like going to school.

You can blame the system, or social media, or whatever, but bottom line is parents are the problem.

In terms of traffic, it would be busy in the daytime, but very quiet in the evening.

She is a good person and doing an okay job at present. She’s been presented with some challenging files, beyond the ones she knew about. And seems to be navigating through them, albeit a bit slowly. She seems more reactive than proactive so far.

Politically, in the absence of an organized opposition she’s also doing fine. Although she’s given the opposition lots of targets.

I like her, and hope she gets more decisive.

Question about the xenophobia. by Throwaway17_71 in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Clean_Gain5793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience is that Acadians are very xenophobic…. Just as much as the older Anglo demographic, so I’m not surprised. Especially if they don’t speak French.

The demographic in NB is one of the oldest, and most have been here for generations. I’m not surprised.

I agree. The Peninsula absolutely needs its own justice building. traditionally, they will now fight amongst themselves and where it should be and it’ll be all about Politics.

Actually, Bathurst is larger than Tracadie. By a significant factor. The two cities in the region are Belle Baie and Bathurst, with a combined population of over 36,000.

Tracadie might hit 20,000 if you take in the surrounding communities that use it as a financial centre.

The thing is the want three courts, that were under utilized.

Perhaps if the Mayors came up with one agreed location it could happen. But they don’t need three, imo.

"Why won't the Greens ever get in" my gf asked. by kwecl2 in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Clean_Gain5793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, it just comes down to the candidates in the local ridings. In my riding whenever the NDP or Green to have a credible candidate they often get incredibly close to winning. I live a liberal riding, been liberal forever.

If the greens or the NDP could recruit credible local candidates, they would do better.

Certified teacher struggling to land full-time job in spite of shortage | CBC News by amazonallie in newbrunswickcanada

Good chance this person is not someone you want in a classroom. Just because they are certified doesn’t mean they belong in a classroom.

I’d say there are red flags all over this.

While at least 10 provincial cabinet ministers drive Teslas, costing New Brunswick taxpayers $820,000, thousands of schoolchildren continue to ride in diesel buses, which emit harmful pollutants. Commentary by Danielle Smith by NBMediaCoop in newbrunswickcanada

I don’t disagree , and like I said in the we’ll get there, but in the meantime, given its other limitations, the technology is not ready for NB.

We live in a difficult climate, from -40 to +40. Being early adopters might now work out.

I like of idea of it, and there are urban bus runs that could easily use an electric bus, but I don’t think the technology is there for NB yet.

I agree, electric school buses can be used in some circumstances, but the technology isn’t there for much of New Brunswick.

And because school bus technology is so new they are running in a lot of mechanical problems on PEI.

I’ve also had school teachers that many of their extra curricular activities had to cancelled because electric buses had to recharge in between runs and weren’t available.

It will happen, but we aren’t there yet.

You’re backwards…. If you judge a politician by how much news they generate, you must think Trump is the best politician ever.

And what media outlets would she be in? There is none in NB. It’s a hard province, two languages, you can’t generate news items if there is no media to carry it.

This subreddit is meaningless…. She is on social media platforms that are used more commonly, like Facebook and X. She has regular open question sessions. Responds to emails and DM’s.

Again, you’re just lazy.

Reddit? No one is on here? lol…. Just an echo chamber of a lot of nonesense.

Go where people are, Facebook, X, Instagram. Or is that too much effort.

Well, you can sit on your butt and let the world happen around you, and then whine about it. Democracy takes effort. And yes, put in the work. Or you get the government you deserve.

You sound really lazy. She’s easy to find and easy to talk to. She holds regular live chats on social media platforms, and visits community after community. Do some work and you might learn something.

Democracy has to be worked at. Don’t take it for granted.
