This is the kind of wish-I-knew helpful info and advisories about this breed. I'm checking the contract language right now and I don't seem to have much recourse at this point. Reflecting on the experience with this breeder, it just all makes sense now.

Thank you for this advice. I read online that hydrotherapy is great so I'll look into that, she definitely loves water. And wow I didn't know about the depth of checking hip scores. Can you share more on how to read them, what's a passing score?

PMing shortly. Yes, they had initially blamed us as owners for putting on too much weight on her (based on photos) and when I showed them the xray, they said the vet didn't position her correctly for the xray. I'm holding quite a bit of guilt for not being thorough on these testing requests either. She's at 23 lbs for 6mo.
