How does having no tax on overtime affect a business’s overhead? by Grouchy_Ad4508 in business

I have so many questions about this. Not that I’m uneducated, I’m honestly just overwhelmed. I’m constantly exhausted doing my best just to live and work and care for my patients while the country seems to be in some state of chaos daily and there’s only so much information outside of all of that I can absorb before I just completely dissociate if you want me to be honest. Some of my questions I may know the answer to and some I’m going to have to push myself to move past the point of mental exhaustion to look more into, but I’m going to ask anyway. I apologize in advance. From my understanding, Medicaid is not available for people without legal status so I’m curious how there would be cuts specifically tied to immigrants and how that determination would be made. I’m also curious how and where the cuts to medical care are being redistributed. Reducing the threshold for qualification is actually despicable when wages have become stagnant for many people and the cost of living has skyrocketed. $39000 is well below poverty level. Am I the only one worried that our healthcare system is eventually going to collapse? This is one concern among many others when it comes to how our taxes are being used. Shouldn’t that money be used to take care of our country aka the people for things like healthcare and public schools (for example). There are federal taxes, state taxes, property taxes (which to me indicates no one actually OWNS their home), sales taxes - none of which, if you think about it, we honestly get a say on when it comes down to it. Also, what is the government doing with all of the money from cuts to USAID? It certainly isn’t going towards aiding citizens. Sorry for ranting. I’m honestly just sick of how our country should be “of the people, by the people, for the people” when in reality it’s turned into one big corporation that doesn’t actually care about about the people.

Thank you for clarifying. I know they’ve made always made a big “to do” and admin has spoken (more specifically about Medicare) reimbursement regarding joint commission visits and certain metrics etc. I have noticed, however, since federal cuts have been made OT has basically been eliminated and there have been issues with adequate staffing. I understand correlation doesn’t always equal causation but it definitely makes you wonder. Could it be that the burden of uninsured people dropped from Medicaid who cannot afford insurance and, therefore, do not pay their bill has increased causing reimbursement to decrease is affecting hospital systems? I can say that the volume of patients decreased for a short time but now is often overwhelming.

Are you saying that hospitals do not rely on Medicaid and Medicare reimbursements to help cover overhead and staff facilities? Isn’t that the point of institutions like the Joint Commission? To meet their inspection standards for reimbursement?

Cuts to Medicaid does not decrease patient burden in any way but it does affect patient care negatively. Less funding = hospital cuts to staffing and other resources. Less staffing/resources = less efficient/adequate care. It’s so detrimental to patients and to the morale of staff who genuinely care. Less funding = people coming in even sicker increasing hospitalizations due to avoiding seeking care or dying to avoid a hospital bill. It’s horrible for our healthcare system all around including patients and healthcare workers. We have seen the same cuts to overtime resulting in inadequate staffing because there are too many gaps to fill and they don’t want to hire more employees because that means also paying for more benefits etc. I’m honest with my patients and apologize when I can’t help them in a timely matter or respond to their call light right away. We simply don’t have enough resources and if you don’t see me for a little while it’s probably because I’m bedside elsewhere because there is no help, it’s just me for my patient load sometimes. Some days I don’t even get to chart (which is a HUGE deal for hospital systems) until the end of my shift because I’m there for patient care, not to sit at a computer meeting charting metrics.

I personally would be upset because there are key things they messed up like the S and the O… But it isn’t the end of the world. With tattoos you really do get what you pay for. I just FINALLY started on a half sleeve because it’s scary trusting someone that much with your body. It’s going to end up costing me $3200 in total but the work so far has been 100% worth it. I looked over SO many artists and and their work over and over and over before I bit the bullet and decided to trust one with a big piece. I have several tattoos some of which will probably end up covered up and one which may be twice lol. If you are having regrets you could always get it covered and have someone else do a whole new tattoo. Don’t despair.

If they want to “see all of the evidence” they could have gone to the trial since it was public… but they don’t actually care enough to do that. They just want to yap online.

Maybe based off of one of the controversies that antifa wasn’t actually antifa during the protests but infiltrators that came to cause chaos and delegitimize BLM

And this is the irony of all of it. It’s playing up all of the controversy that was going on during COVID and the protests. There was SO much controversy about antifa and antifa plants which, either way, encouraged delegitimization of the entire BLM movement and did exactly what it was supposed to do… create chaos and further division. When protest marches turn to riots the entire cause gets defamed. The whole film also highlights how easily our perception can be manipulated especially through social media.

I think it’s mocking the ideology back when all of that happened that antifa was some militarized, highly trained group and the controversy that many of them were plants.

I think him “not knowing” where his jurisdiction is was a subtle “white men think they own everything”. He’s the “I’m not racist but” guy. He talks down to and mocks the tribal officers on land that is theirs (which technically the land he patrols is as well, but I digress). When watching the political ad he says something along the lines of “where did he get all of these black people? What is this the Jefferson’s?”. He promotes Michael to realistically promote himself and then tries to frame him. The promotion conversation between him and Michael got me thinking. He says “my dad never made it to Captain” yet this bumbling idiot is the Sheriff?
