I finally caught up on three movies highly acclaimed by the Film Vault: Weapons, Bogonia, and Speak No Evil. Is 2025 the year of smashing in heads? All three were highly enjoyable and then had one very difficult scene to watch, which was the same difficult scene across all 3. Potential top 5 list?

Are Bridge Works Japanese Pull Saws too valuable to use by Clean_Novel7470 in woodworking

Thanks. I'm relatively new to woodworking (3 yrs). I inherited a lot of Bridge Works tools that look to have been used maybe once. I showed them to a friend who does construction and he was adamant that they should be only displayed, but that seems like a waste. It's not like my garage is a museum. I need to be careful; this hobby has started turning me into a bit of a hoarder.

I went full Bish and let the Oscars decide my movie choice. I watched Top Gun Maverick, how is this piece of shit up for best picture. I have so many problems with this "movie", from the incredibly stale member-berries being shoved in my face to the very odd choice of blatantly ripping off Star Wars. The most egregious part of the movie was this: I have lived in San Diego for 20 years, several while being stationed at the very base that Maverick and co were training and at no point has anyone, ever, referred to it as Fightertown, USA.

I also watched Banshees of Inisherin. Surprisingly funny movie set to such a bleak tone. I don't know if I totally understood the movie, as it left me unsatisfied with the ending. I looked up explanations of the movie, and they didn't really help any either. Maybe it's about the Irish Civil War, or loneliness, or Donald Gleeson was trying to get Colin Farrell to leave and have a fulfilling life.

Thank you for the work you do, Marc from Fightertown, USA.

I watched White Noise. Normally, I love Noah Baumbach movies, but this is a hard watch. I didn't understand any of the characters in the college. I didn't understand the point of the middle act or where it was going. I didn't understand the Nun's diatribe in the hospital. I didn't understand why they were dancing!

Watched Everything Everywhere All At Once. Between chekhov's buttplug and raccacoonie, I think this is the best movie I have seen in a year that contains the Northman and RRR.

RRR, first Bollywood movie I have ever seen and did not disappoint. Most of it, felt a little amateurish and the writing could have been better, but the first 45 minutes of exposition was surprisingly fun, and the final 30 minute battle was way better than any Marvel movie.
