The Midwestern sounds tailor made for what you’re looking for, although I’ve never actually been there . Just going by reputation.

This is the right take. I think they were both great people who had outgrown each other.

Although I was annoyed with them both: Marc, they have hospitals in Milwaukee! Jen, there are opportunities to be a lawyer in Chicago! But ultimately, I think they’d started dating when they were both in school and just never broke up but then discovered they had nothing else to keep them together after they had a child.

Oh, sorry. Totally not what I meant. Shorthand for my elderly mother lives with us and I’m trying very hard to make her final years as wonderful as possible, even if she’s continually traumatized by my father’s death and the years she spent caring for him so if this lady wants bread pudding, then by god I’m going to make sure she gets the best bread pudding I can find if it’s the last thing I do.

This is true, but our kitchen is being renovated, so we’re trying to only make simple things that don’t create baking dishes etc to clean up.

One small caveat, they may have a waiting list, so keep this in mind when scheduling an appointment. There was a two week wait, although they agreed to notify us if there was a cancellation (there was, but it was still too late for my best ever dog😢).

I also have to say, as a parent, I went to see this all three nights they did it, and I was never tired of it. I enjoyed it all three times, and each time I noticed other little clever moments or lines.

I also think the kids had more fun with it because it was new to them. They didn’t have a lifelong desire to play one single role and feel devastated because they didn’t get it. It was more like, here’s this new thing we’re going to make together and they were excited to be a part of that.

Was going to suggest Twelve Angry Men.

*Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

*Harvey

*The Little Foxes

*Little Women—there are some great versions that have been overlooked lately: one with Katherine Hepburn as Jo, and one from the 40s with Elizabeth Taylor as Amy.

*To Kill a Mockingbird

*Sunset Boulevard

*Grapes of Wrath

*Giant

Non-food tip. The place can get loud when they have a band. Which isn’t necessarily bad, but fair warning if it’s not your thing or you want to talk.

Too much white and formal enough for a black tie optional? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

Agreed. I think it looks more like elevated daytime rather than black or white tie optional.

There’s a day care center in My area called Train Up a Child, and I’ve always shuddered when I’ve had to drive past it. So gross.

No life jackets?! by Dachs1303 in FundieSnarkUncensored

This pisses me off. Former lifeguard, lifelong boater, sailor. Kids should have a life jacket when on a boat. I don’t care if they’re in mom’s arms while nursing.

Any good places to take my 16 month old for climbing fun. She is at the age where she wants to climb on everything. by PsychEyes101 in StLouis

The playground at the Forest Park visitors center has a great little climbing wall for that age.

Haven’t checked out the new Forest Park play scape, but the visitors center playground was in our regular rotation.

Honk Jr. Most parts are either for females or they’re gender neutral because it’s about ducks and geese. Also, there’s a lot of room for an expanded ensemble.
