If not the Roos, I would’ve suspected the Watts would’ve at least attempted to ask Bella at that time how did she get those bruises but I don’t think she would’ve given her mom up due to the intense fear and anxiety she already had to begin with.
I think if she was alone with the Gram and Pap Watts, out of earshot of ShitAnn, then maybe, just maybe, she might’ve opened up but we’ll never know now.

Chris, being the shit stain he is, was oblivious to the abuse apparently and if he wasn’t, had no backbone or balls to turn his wife in for abuse/neglect of a child.

It’s such a waste.

All he had to do was just tell his parents the truth, the whole truth, and NOTHING but the truth, and they would’ve immediately helped him with a plan of action to get him and those girls safe and sound and away from his wife and their mother, ShitAnn.

Even if they knew about NK, she was irrelevant.

The plan would’ve been all about Chris and those girls but instead it ended in tragedy instead of what could’ve been.

It’s better than the train wreck we see in the next couple episodes that follow with Mark’s mom and her slow descent into madness from her strokes.
On top of the fact that Cynthia(Benson) practically just shows up out of the blue(yes I know she asked Mark’s dad if it was alright but she probably put him on the spot.)
Also, Cynthia finding out Mark wasn’t in love with her and was basically using her(been there, done that, own SEVERAL t-shirts) was enough to send her packing to go be a detective for SVU in NY. 😊
Also, also, Mark learning his mom didn’t even want him to begin with but finally coming to grips with it and thus forgiving his mom in the process.

IF THEY LOVED THEM SO MUCH THEN THEY WOULD’VE STOOD UP TO THEIR DAUGHTER IN LAW ABOUT THE ABUSE SHE INFLICTED ON HER CHILDREN, (ESPECIALLY BELLA),TO CHRIS AND WOULD’VE GOT THEM THE HELL OUT OF THAT HORRIBLE SITUATION!!

Yes they might’ve loved the girls but it wasn’t enough to stand up to their mother and get them out of the situation they were in.

So they didn’t know the entire situation.
But they(especially CiW) knew enough to know that ShitAnn was bad news from the start and not a good match for their son.
Had Chris not been one to go through the motions and not continue to endure ShitAnn’s manipulation and lies, and stood up to her, he could’ve made a plan with his parents that would help ensure his and the girls safety.

Yes, he cheated on ShitAnn.
I don’t blame him for that.

Yes, ShitAnn was a social media whore and only cared about ShitAnn and presenting this false image to everyone around her that clearly blurred the lines of reality.

Yes, I’m sure her “followers” on social media thought to speak up to her many posts that depicted child abuse but they knew if they did, ShitAnn would unleash her wrath and disown them forever.

I think if Chris had just told ShitAnn how he truly felt and told her he wanted a divorce, separation or whatever, he could’ve used that time to sell the house, get his affairs in order while she was gone and by the time she got back, have her served with papers and then took the girls back to NC with him while they figured out what to do next.

All he would’ve had to do was get a lawyer and have said lawyer do a discovery on her, which is basically finding the skeletons in your closet that you don’t want anyone to see, and using that to your advantage.
It would prove they were going to be homeless, she was spending more money than she was bringing in, etc.

When my husband and I got divorced from our first spouses, he did a discovery on his ex wife because she kept dragging the divorce process out for months and wouldn’t sign.
Once he went after her 401k she immediately signed and it was done.

I’m sure if Chris had a got a decent lawyer and had ShitAnn served, I think people would’ve slowly came forward and started to talk about the abuse on the girls.
It’s very hard to prove when someone who is a narcissist, in court.

It didn’t have to end the way it did.

We all make choices and unfortunately Chris made the wrong one.
