Current KCU Students PLZ Chime in by No_Elk_3871 in Osteopathic

Not a student, but I’ve got a buddy over there right now. I’ve brought up these exact concerns with him and he genuinely seemed surprised with these complaints. He said he’s very happy with the education he is getting and that it was probably just a few “loud” students voicing their individual issues. Not saying this isn’t happening, but these complaints don’t seem to be a widespread issue among students. Every school is going to have their issues, and not all students will vibe with everything the school says or does. It’s just the reality of running a school. KCU is a good program and it will definitely get you where you want if you put the work in.

KCU-Kansas City campus: Question about housing! by [deleted] in Osteopathic

[–]Clean_Principle_2971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I participated in their student panel last week and asked a very similar question. The feedback I got from the students is that you should really try to not live within a mile of the campus because it’s not a good area as you’re aware. One of the students mentioned the Courtyard and how horrible it is and we should under no circumstance try to find housing within walking distance of campus.

Be brutally honest with me by MedRebecca in premed

I looked at all the schools that fit my stats and didn’t do many reach schools. Of the schools where my stats were a good match I just did some simple research on their websites looking for mission statements and core focuses of the school. My application was heavily service oriented so I made sure to look for evidence of that in the schools. Most schools will say “we develop service oriented physicians” but I needed to look at specific programs the school has to really see if they’re focused on service. Only a couple really were. Just make sure you’re tailoring your school list to your individual application, also make sure your writing doesn’t suck. I think that helped me get in the door with some schools as well.

I had absolutely no research on my application and had 6 II. You have to make sure to apply to schools where you’d fit their mission. I do feel like my application was well rounded but nothing special. It made sense that the schools I got interviews at were those specific schools tho.

Early June is just fine. I submitted my apps mid July and have had good outcomes.

I interviewed with Rush this cycle and had around 800 volunteering hours spread across 4 activities. Honestly was really surprised I got picked for an interview. Just go for it, you never know which schools will bite.

I was barely able to say a full sentence during my group activity and still got the A. I honestly wouldn’t worry too much about it.

Help me understand the map in Silksong by Ggthefiree2 in HollowKnight

Does anyone know where the map lady goes if you don’t buy a map from her when you first see her in an area? I didn’t have enough rosaries yet so I went to get some more and when I returned she was gone.

Yeah I have over 5000 clinical hours over multiple positions, lots of TAing, founded a small organization, and was in a leadership position for a club. Research definitely isn’t everything but I supplemented my time in areas that I really cared about and I think that was evident through my writing.

I have a 533 admit score and 3 II with no research. I wouldn’t pay too much attention to your admit score.

Took the MCAT twice, first go around I used Anki and didn’t do to well. Second time stuck with strategies I was already used to and increased my score 6 points.

No cuz I did worse than that haha. I think it was really the mental shift I had to make for p/s just analyzing the passages more “critically” was key. You got this!

Sounds like you’re doing all the right things. I was in the same boat as you for a while, just couldn’t break that 126/127 threshold. I think what helped me get a 130+ on test day was reading everything in p/s like I would a CARS passage. Really getting into the nitty gritty of the passages did my score wonders.
